- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2011I own and make use of about a dozen different SCENAR devices, so my thoughts about Dr. Tennant's book come from the perspective of one who has a great deal of experience actually putting his concepts and information to practical use.
First, the cons:
There is really only one major con, and that's already been discussed to death. The book formatting is not well done. OK, granted, it isn't the prettiest piece of work. That being said, it is certainly not so bad as to make the information unusable by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, quite the contrary is true, which I'll touch on in a moment.
Another reviewer suggested waiting until a second edition with improved formatting gets published. You could take that route if you want to. I suppose it just depends on how badly you need the information. Is it really worth allowing your health and your health care to continue to degenerate by not having this information, just so you can wait for a prettier format to come out? You'll have to decide that for yourself, but I know which way I would vote.
Here's a little advice for those who got completely hung up on the book's formatting issues and wrote caustic reviews because of them. If you're going to rip someone a new one for using less than perfect language skills, make sure your critique isn't written so poorly that you look functionally illiterate. Criticisms about someone else's use of language carry far more credibility when they aren't themselves filled with typographical errors, words used improperly, and sentences that have poor structure, worse grammar, and incorrect or non-existent punctuation. Something about glass houses and throwing stones comes to mind here.
Now, the Pros:
Dr. Tennant's book covers information that is right at the edge of medical science. As another reviewer mentioned, there are doubtless many doctors who would call this quackery, not because it is quackery, but because it's so far out on the leading edge that most mainstream medical people have had no exposure to it yet. Given our current medical police state, it's unlikely they will get any substantial exposure to this information from mainstream sources any time soon.
Let's be honest, the idea that electrical micro-currents play a major role in the health of the body is not something any pharmaceutical company can turn into a drug and patent at $10 per pill. If it can't be turned into a patented drug, it won't make it into the curriculum of any medical college. There will be no ongoing medical education seminars that discuss it. No pharmaceutical rep. is going to take a doctor out for free lunches or on paid retreats to Rio or the Bahamas to discuss it. And if the doctors don't have any information about it, what else are they to think when suddenly confronted with the whole concept? Quackery.
To be versed in this branch of research a doctor would have to go out of his or her way to find and evaluate the information. This is difficult for many reasons, not least among them being that the lion's share of the research and experimentation on using these micro-currents for restoring and maintaining health has been done in Russia. Most of the data is still in Russian, and the quality of translations for the little that has been translated is extremely poor. In fact, if you view or read these translations, most of them border on being incomprehensible. The translations are so poor as to make them useless to the English speaking reader. Contrast this to the less than optimal formatting of this book. Is the book better or poorer than the Russian translations? Bad formatting notwithstanding, this book is a thousand times easier to make sense out of than the bad translations of the Russian materials.
Add to this the fact that any doctor (at least in the US) who attempts to incorporate these principles into professional practice will lose their medical license quick, fast, and in a hurry. Everyone who has read this book or seen Dr. Tennant's video presentations will have noted that he scrupulously mentions at the outset that the information he is about to present is coming from Jerry Tennant, the minister, and Jerry Tennant, the researcher, but not from Dr. Jerry Tennant, the medical doctor. He has to present the information in this way because if he offered it as professional medical advice, regardless of how true or how beneficial it might be, his medical license would be revoked immediately. So will the license of any other doctor who dares to offer a treatment other than drugging, cutting or irradiating.
Anyone who doubts this need only go to the FDA's own website and peruse their online list of warning letters they've issued to those making what the FDA says are false medical claims. Case in point, Dr. Andrew Weil, a famous, Harvard trained physician was sent such a letter just last year. The FDA threatened Dr. Weil with fines, seizure of property, and criminal prosecution and imprisonment because he dared suggest that some of the supplements he markets might help support the immune system, which, in turn, might help the body protect itself from colds and influenza. Wow! What a medically irresponsible concept - that we might actually be able to support our immune systems (using herbs and vitamins which have a long and clear history in peer-reviewed studies of supporting the immune system,) and that a healthy immune system might actually help prevent illness! Send that medical heretic to the gallows!
So I do not blame the rank and file doctors for not having any working knowledge of the subject matter of Dr. Tennant's book. Their medical practices are directly under the control of the pharmaceutical industry and its Gestapo-esque enforcement arms, otherwise known as the FDA and the AMA. Doctors can only deal with the information they have, and they are only allowed to have the information the Pharma-Nazis say they can have.
To Dr. Tennant's credit, he has managed to step outside this restrictive Pharma-Nazi box and provide a great deal of information in this area of research to us laymen. I don't read Russian, and I don't speak medical jargon particularly well, so Dr. Tennant's book is a treasure trove of information I might not otherwise have had access to.
There are other books that deal with electricity and health, such as The Body Electric. But most of these books are fairly old. The material in Tennant's book integrates the newest in medical knowledge with this body of research coming largely out of Russia. As I noted up front, I have and use about a dozen different SCENAR devices, all of which are produced in Russia. In learning to use these devices I have been limited in large part to using extremely poor English translations of both written and video materials from their Russian originals. I learned far more from Dr. Tennant's book than I have from all of those poorly translated sources combined. Many things about the use of SCENAR devices I learned through trial and error. I figured out what worked, but I didn't always understand why it worked. After reading Dr. Tennant's book, I now understand why things work as they do.
So, is the book formatting ugly? Sure, but it's certainly still very understandable. It's far more understandable than anything you'll find translated from Russian into whatever language you speak. And I can also say that correctly using these devices has done wonders for my health, the health of my family, and for many with whom I have shared them. I wish I'd had this book years ago as a reference. It would have saved me a great deal of time in the learning curve.
Update 3-21-2012
Dr. Tennant has released a new book specifically targeting the use of SCENAR and eye problems. I have not seen it, but based on reviews it is my understanding that it has the same poor formatting problems. While I understand that he was essentially a first time publisher when he wrote the book currently under consideration, and that he had some unexpected problems with the formatting because he was new to using the writing software, and it did not convert as cleanly as expected, etc., I am at a loss as to why a second book would come out equally poorly in terms of formatting. Dr. Tennant, once is a mistake. Twice is carelessness. You should produce a better product if you want to continue selling books to the public. Please, make the effort. Your work is too important to be shot down by carelessness.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2017Excellent book. Explains what pH really means and why it is important and how to maintain it. You get decades of cutting edge practical information in this book from a doctor with real world practical experience. Dr. Tennant explains the reasons for health very clearly and just being aware makes you want to do the right thing for your health. I have less desire to put process junk into my body now that I know what it will do to me. The book does appear to be somewhat of a sales tool for Dr. Tennant's Biomodulator device, which is expensive, but the device does appear to be amazing in what it can tell you. If I can find a someone in my area who has offers the service, I'd like to be diagnosed with the Biomodulator. If the device was widely used and if people followed Dr. Tennant's recommendation it would revolutionize health care.
Dr. Tennant's ideas overlap a great deal with Nutritional Balancing Science taught by Dr. Lawrence Wilson. Dr. Tennant has merged eastern science of acupuncture, meridians, and yin and yang concepts with western science and makes me want to look deeper into these ideas which western science seems to know relatively little.
Dr. Tennant recommends using mineral taste kits (available at Amazon) to determine if one needs a particular mineral or not. If this really works reliably as Dr. Tennant suggests, it would be an amazing tool that everyone should use. The idea makes a whole lot of sense; it is the idea that the creator gave our taste buds an intelligence to know what the body needs. It is minerals that are the most serious deficiency in the general population today not vitamins, antioxidants, and most especially magnesium. I've been using hair mineral analysis to determining mineral imbalances but I plan to take a closer look at this simple mineral taste kit. I wonder if there are any scientific or even amateur studies involving this kit?
I've never heard of bowling ball syndrome (BBS) until this books, and Tennant covers it in great detail. He claims that correct it is the most powerful therapy that he does! That's a huge statement! And it is extremely common he claims. If you have a chronic illness, you very likely have BBS, he says. He explains this condition in great detail and the various ways to correct it.
Dr. Tennant highly recommends Dr Robert O. Becker's book Body Electric and says that anyone interested in health should read it. I've been eyeing this book for a while now, but now I really want it. The book is currently not available in Kindle format because formatting issues are being corrected. Look forward to that book too.
The new paradigm is that the body is energy and should be thought of and treated as such. The eastern healing arts have known this for thousands of years and fortunately we now have these books to help us see closer to the truth.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2015I have a rather full library of books on health as I have sought to understand a physical problem i have suffered for 10 years that is now finally resolving. In my journey few books have had as much real solid information as this one. I congratulate the author, not only for a well written book, but for the immense about of original research reported to us. Dr. Tennant has defined and codified the use of electricity in the body. He has mapped the "wiring" to all body parts and has provided a system of treatment to the reader that can restore health. He has unified the flows of acupuncture, the chakras and the nervous system. There truly is no other book like it.
The book is now in it's third edition. Much was added between the 2nd and 3rd publishing. For example the chapter on fulvic acid.
I will state that I have been using an electrical energy device for about 3 years, and if I had not had it, I would hate to contemplate the condition I would be in without it. No, it is not the Biomodulator (his energy device) and I do not mention what it is because I do not want to taint or take away from this review by directing attention elsewhere. The point is, the use of electrons and frequency are vital elements of healing and living fully. Dr. Tennant had gifted us with a treasure in this book. Anyone who wants to understand the use of electrons and frequency in the body will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars All chronic diseases are characterised by low voltage.
Quite remarkable book if I must say if you overlook the photocopied haze of the instructional diagrams and the cut/paste formatting (suggesting a lack of proof reading). I was almost mistakenly put off at the start by a whole chapter devoted to legal wonk (though seemingly necessary) detailing the author’s Pastoral Health Practitioner workaround to getting past a Texan decree: all physicians are required to practice a ‘standard of care’. Could this beg the question: are we unwittingly taking in contraband from an energetic outlaw..haha..whe enjoys a long winge?
HisV can be broken down into a number of broad topic areas of understanding:
1. The western medical model adopts chemistry and newtonian physics in seeking to make damaged cells well; whereas HisV recognises the body’s capacity for regeneration by growing new cells that work. For example, “the rods/cones of the retina are replaced every 48 hrs, the lining of the intestines every 3 days, skin in 6 weeks, liver 8 weeks, nervous system 8 months, and bones every year.”
2. A familiar refrain of Jerry’s is to start thinking like an electrician (not a biochemist) by learning to check voltages in the wiring system of the body (cf. acupuncture). These voltages are stored through different methods and means in battery packs which are the biological precursors of the Tesla coil in providing energy to the cell membrane. Health-giving electrons are either donated (charged) or stolen (leaked) from each cell, designed to run at a specific voltage and frequency: “bad things happen when voltage drops, organs don’t have enough energy to do their job and get rid of toxic waste.”
3. Getting to grips with the link between pH and millivolts (mV): 0 (acid) = 400 mV, 7 (neutral) = 0mV, 14 (alkaline) = -400 mV is a key learning. Cells are designed to run between -20 and -25 millivolts (7.35 - 7.45 pH) as an operating environment (tick over); but to make a new cell and heal requires voltage of - 50 mV to - 70/90mV boost plus the raw materials (nutrition) and reduction in toxins that damage cells “as fast as they are made.” At -15 mV the body becomes tired, at -10 mV sick, at -5mV the organs stop working, and at reverse polarity (beyond 0mV) DNA is damaged along with the control mechanism of the cell. HisV therefore rebadges disease as too little voltage (and frequency) for example, the pH of cancer exists at 6.48 below neutral.
4. So why won’t cells hold charge? Scars drain the bodies battery pack, teeth act like a circuit breaker if infected that will leak voltage and eventually flip so every organ that is powered along the circuit malfunctions. Emotions stored in the circuit as a magnetic field also have the power to flip and start a chronic disease, which in principle is very similar to a key componnt of Dr Nelson’s Emotion Code. The solution to both methodolgies is to erase the emotions with a stronger magnetic field so the power supply goes up.
5. Two electron-ic devices are sold that send out waveforms that transmit electrons (as well as scalar energy) so that low voltages can be corrected - the Biomodulator ($2750) and/or Biotransducer ($3000). They are normally held at the bioterminals of the body which are switching terminals (close to but not same as chakra positions) and approximate the nexus points of two main wiring systems - the perineural sheath and acupuncture fascial plane along which voltage travels (the meridians). Also, essential oils can be used to correct the cellular software by matching frequencies of the body’s organs and cells to that of the oils so that together they “give exponentially better results.” There has been some criticism that HisV has come on the back of S.C.E.N.A.R technology (Self Controlled Energo Neuro Adaptive Regulation) invented by the USSR to heal cosmonauts in space when shuttle technology was not available compared to the resources at hand for USA astronauts; but as is well argued, Russian advancements too came upon the shoulders of earlier innovators.
In summing up, the ‘handbook’ is pitched somewhere between a science text book and a beginners primer. However, the litany of scientific terms at every turn is a slog if science is not your bag; but what you gain in effort of understanding is an “irresistible logic” as an acquaintance of mine put it who practices Biomodulation (or HisV).
Be prepared to gen up on your college nutrition, physiology, anatomy, cell biology etc., along with - what seems to be de rigueur in describing energy from first principles these days - a crash course in physics. Jerry is an ambassador for electrical medicine and an excellent trainer (check out his YouTube videos). Healing in Voltage is such a great book carrying such a brilliant message it deserves a more professional layout, which unfortunately is its only let down; otherwise an essential read for energetic explorers.
