Martha Carlin is the founder of BiotiQuest, a probiotic formulation company built on ecosystem-design principles. After her husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, Martha spent years self-teaching microbiome science and eventually partnered with Dr. Raul Kano, a microbial ecologist with 35 years at Cal Poly, to apply bacterial-team bioremediation concepts to human gut health. BiotiQuest's flagship product Sugar Shift uses a designed microbial team to produce mannitol for downstream blood sugar modulation. Martha writes and speaks on the limits of single-strain probiotics, horizontal gene transfer, glycocalyx protection, and the missing-microbes hypothesis.
