MasteryOS is an offline-first learning and skill-development app from Outliyr. This page explains how MasteryOS handles your information.
The short version
- Your mastery data is saved on your device first.
- The app has no MasteryOS account, advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking.
- Optional iCloud sync uses your own Apple account and private CloudKit database.
- Notifications and widgets are optional and use information already on your device.
- Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.
Information MasteryOS stores
MasteryOS stores the information you create while learning: goals, plans, practice attempts, answers, evidence, progress, and settings. This practice ledger is written locally on your device. MasteryOS does not operate an account or application server that receives a separate copy of it.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable sync, MasteryOS stores your ledger in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple account. Apple processes that information under its iCloud terms. Sync is optional, remains under your Apple account, and the app continues to work offline when sync is disabled.
No analytics, ads, or tracking
MasteryOS does not include advertising or analytics services, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell personal information. Its Apple privacy manifest declares no tracking domains and no collected data types.
Notifications and widgets
If you opt in, MasteryOS can schedule local practice reminders through Apple’s on-device notification system. It does not use a remote push-notification service. Its home-screen widget can display your next practice item using data already on your device. You can disable either feature without affecting your practice ledger.
Sharing and exports
MasteryOS can create a shareable practice artifact only when you choose to do so. Before sharing, you choose which fields appear. The app does not automatically share your raw ledger. You may also export your raw learning data, including correct and incorrect attempts, for your own use.
Optional AI integrations
MasteryOS can provide optional local skill packages for use with third-party AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude. Installing or connecting one is an action you take in that third-party service. MasteryOS does not automatically send your local or iCloud data to an AI provider. If you choose to provide information to a third-party assistant, that provider’s terms and privacy policy apply.
Health and activity permissions
Recovery and neuroplasticity features are optional and permission-based. MasteryOS does not receive Apple Health or activity data unless you grant the relevant permission. Core mastery features work without this access. You can revoke access in system settings.
Your controls
You can export your ledger, delete goals and their records, disable iCloud sync, turn off notifications and widgets, revoke health permissions, and disconnect optional AI integrations. Deleting the app removes its local data subject to Apple’s normal device backup and iCloud behavior.
Children
MasteryOS is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a MasteryOS-operated server.

We may update this page when MasteryOS features or privacy practices change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
