What You’ll Learn

  • The GABA link behind most seizures: Armes traced her own epilepsy to a GABA deficiency, then used food to walk off all three of her medications. She’s been seizure free for close to 40 years. [02:21]
  • Why hand sanitizer may be draining your calm: GABA is manufactured in the digestive tract, so killing gut bacteria shuts down the factory that makes it. [06:17]
  • The bacteria math nobody teaches: Armes puts the body’s bacterial load at 70 to 90 trillion, with more than 95% of it working in your favor. [06:32]
  • Fiber diversity beats fiber quantity: Your body cannot break down fiber at all. Your bacteria do that job, and each type of fiber feeds a different microbe. [08:18]
  • Your internal pharmaceutical factory: Amino acids build proteins and proteins build enzymes, so a missing raw material stalls the entire chain. [15:49]
  • Why minerals come before everything else: Armes calls minerals the sparks of life, the trigger for a reaction rather than the material of it. [16:46]
  • The fortified label red flag: If a package says fortified, Armes reads that as proof the food had almost nothing in it to begin with. [20:21]
  • Biofeedback from $149 a month to $30,000: She owns three units and explains what separates a real device from a storefront for someone’s supplement line. [38:15]
  • Four free changes worth making first: Sunlight, grounding, real salt, and dropping sugar, dairy, and grain. [42:07]

Why It Matters

I booked Zuzu because she’s the cleanest living test I’ve come across of something this show keeps circling: that the body manufactures most of what we pay for, provided it gets the raw material. She didn’t arrive at that from theory. She arrived at it from a seizure diagnosis at 12 and three medications she later walked away from.

Most people answer a symptom by buying something, and it rarely matters whether that something comes from a pharmacy or a supplement shop. Karen Armes has taught more than 2,500 seminars on a different premise: your body already manufactures the majority of what you’re paying for, as long as it has the raw material to work with.

This episode maps which building blocks actually matter, how to tell when yours are missing, and where testing helps instead of adding noise.

Who Should Listen

  • Anyone managing a long-standing condition who wants to understand the deficiency sitting underneath it.
  • Supplement buyers who suspect they’ve swapped a pharmacy habit for a slightly healthier shopping habit.
  • Practitioners curious where biofeedback fits alongside conventional lab work rather than against it.

Episode Overview

Karen Armes had her first seizure around age five. By 21 she was on three medications and carrying a small bell to warn people when another one was coming. Then she got pregnant, decided she didn’t want those drugs reaching her daughter, and used food to taper off all three. She’s been seizure free for nearly four decades.

On the High Performance Longevity podcast, the co-founder of Holistic Health Educators explains what she found in those library stacks and why she now teaches it to students in more than 45 countries.

The mechanism she landed on is GABA, the neurotransmitter that governs electrical activity in the body. Armes argues it’s produced mainly in the digestive system and needs two conditions: the right pH and a diverse microbiome. That reframes a neurological diagnosis as a gut problem, and it explains her hard line on anything that strips bacteria indiscriminately.

From there the conversation widens into what she calls the body’s pharmaceutical factory, where amino acids build proteins, proteins build enzymes, and minerals act as the spark that sets any of it in motion.

The back half gets practical. Armes walks through biofeedback, how frequency-based assessment works, and what separates a legitimate unit from a sales funnel dressed up as a scan. She names the four changes she’d have anyone make before spending a dollar: get in the sun, touch the ground, eat real salt, and drop sugar, dairy, and grain.

Then she shares the food and emotion frequency chart she spent years compiling, including the one food that scores higher cooked than raw.

Key Terms Quick Reference

  • [02:21] GABA: The neurotransmitter that regulates electrical activity in the nervous system. Armes says most seizure activity traces back to a shortage of it, and that it’s produced primarily in the gut rather than the brain.
  • [13:38] L-form bacteria: Bacteria that shed their cell wall and hide inside the body, which is why some infections appear to resolve and then return. Standard cultures often miss them.
  • [15:10] Elastase: An enzyme tied to tissue elasticity. Armes uses low elastase as a signal to check the heart, since it turned up on a client’s cardiac scan after her enzyme panel flagged it.
  • [27:03] Flexner Report: The 1910 review that reshaped American medical education and pushed most botanical and homeopathic training out of the curriculum. Armes treats it as the moment the two traditions split.
  • [29:16] Biofeedback: Sending known frequencies into the body and reading what comes back, the same principle as a metal detector or a ground-penetrating survey. Each element vibrates at its own rate, so the return signal indicates what’s present.
  • [32:03] Harmonic resonance: The effect where matching an object’s natural frequency causes it to shatter, like an opera singer and a wine glass. It’s the operating principle behind lithotripsy for kidney stones.
  • [01:02:03] Angstrom: A unit of measurement Armes uses as a proxy for vibrational frequency in foods and emotional states, read with a voltmeter. Her chart ranks rose oil highest and corn syrup lowest.

Why Are So Many People Low in GABA?

The short answer

Because GABA is made largely in the digestive system, and the conditions it needs there are the ones modern life erodes first.

What Armes found

Armes describes GABA as the neurotransmitter controlling the body’s electrical activity, and says most seizure activity comes back to a deficiency of it. In her account, production depends on two things: an adequate pH, which she says most people skew too acidic on, and a diverse microbiome.

She points at indiscriminate sanitizing as a major driver, alongside alcohol and long-term medication use, since all three reduce the bacterial diversity that production depends on.

What to do about it

Start with the foods she names as GABA-rich: walnuts, spinach, and bananas. If walnuts make your tongue react, she says to soak them overnight and rinse them before eating. Then widen the range of plant fibers on your plate rather than raising the amount, since each fiber type feeds a different organism. Treat aggressive sanitizing as something to use deliberately rather than by default.

GABA is made primarily in the digestive system and it needs 2 things. It needs the proper pH and most people are way too acidic and it needs a diverse microbiome.

Can Your Body Make What You’re Buying in Bottles?

The short answer

Much of it, yes, but only when the upstream raw materials are present. The body synthesizes compounds; it cannot conjure the inputs.

What Armes found

Her framing is a chain of dependencies. Amino acids assemble into proteins, proteins assemble into enzymes, and a single enzyme can require thousands of proteins. Miss an amino acid and everything downstream stops. She describes a client whose low elastase pointed her toward the heart, which the woman’s cardiac scan then confirmed.

Her position on minerals is different: the body can’t manufacture them at all, and she treats them as the spark that triggers function rather than the substance being built.

What to do about it

Cover the inputs before buying the output. Armes points people toward spirulina, chlorella, and seaweeds for a complete amino acid profile, and toward sprouted organic pumpkin seeds as a whole-food source. Treat a fortified label as a signal to put the package down. And widen the diet before widening the supplement shelf, since a more varied plate means a more varied supply of building blocks.

If you don’t have the amino acids, then you can’t build the protein, which then would build the enzyme.

What Is Biofeedback & How Does It Actually Work?

The short answer

It sends known frequencies into the body and reads what returns, on the principle that every element vibrates at its own distinct rate.

What Armes found

She reframes the periodic table as a table of electricity: twelve protons means twelve electrons, and that signature is magnesium. Because each element resonates differently, a device can broadcast a frequency and interpret the return, much as a metal detector surveys ground or a survey scan maps structures beneath forest canopy.

She notes the same physics already runs in hospitals, since lithotripsy breaks kidney stones by matching their resonant frequency.

What to do about it

If you explore a unit, judge the device before the reading. Armes warns about systems preloaded only with the frequencies of whatever the seller stocks, which turns an assessment into a shopping list. She owns three units and rates the Vital Unit from Standard Enzyme highest, with a handheld option at roughly $149 a month as the accessible entry point.

She’s also clear that the operator matters more than the hardware, and that she still orders conventional diagnostics to rule things out.

It’s all about the person you’re meeting with. It really is, because I can look at someone’s results and someone else can look at someone’s results and we may have, well, they can be the same results, but because of the experience I have compared to maybe that person.

The Armes Kitchen Hacking Method

Armes calls herself the kitchen hacker, and her sequence starts with what costs nothing before it reaches anything you’d buy.

  1. Get in the sun daily: she treats sunlight as non-negotiable, and says a medication that forbids it is worth revisiting with your prescriber rather than accepting.
  2. Touch the earth: grounding outdoors where possible, since she considers most suburban yards compromised by stray electrical current. Indoor mats work, but test that the outlet is genuinely grounded first.
  3. Use real salt, not table salt: she recommends unrefined sea, Himalayan, and black salts, and argues most people are running low rather than high.
  4. Cut sugar, dairy, and grain together: she says you’ll notice a difference within a week, though clearing dairy and gluten from the cells themselves takes closer to three months.
  5. Diversify fiber before adding probiotics: a dozen plant types on the plate feeds more organisms than a single-strain capsule does.
  6. Cover minerals and amino acids next: only after the free changes are in place, and through food first via spirulina, chlorella, seaweeds, and sprouted seeds.
  7. Test to rule things out, not to shop: she still uses conventional diagnostics alongside biofeedback, and treats any device that only recommends its own store as disqualified.

Common kitchen hacking mistakes

  1. Swapping a pharmaceutical for everything with a natural supplement for everything. Armes is explicit that trading one shopping habit for another misses the point.
  2. Buying fortified food. She reads fortification as evidence the food was stripped, and notes the added minerals are often the cheapest available form.
  3. Sanitizing reflexively. She ties routine hand sanitizer and household disinfectant use directly to the loss of the bacteria that make your neurotransmitters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What causes most seizures according to Karen Armes?

Armes says most seizure activity traces back to a GABA deficiency. GABA is the neurotransmitter that regulates electrical activity in the body, and she reversed her own epilepsy by restoring it through food after being prescribed three medications at age 12.

Where is GABA actually produced in the body?

Primarily in the digestive system, according to Armes. She says production requires two conditions: an appropriate pH, which most people skew too acidic on, and a diverse microbiome.

Which foods are highest in GABA?

Armes names walnuts, spinach, and bananas as GABA-rich foods. She advises soaking walnuts overnight and rinsing them if they cause a reaction on the tongue.

Can the human body make its own vitamins & enzymes?

Armes says yes for many compounds, provided the raw materials are present. Amino acids build proteins and proteins build enzymes, so a missing input stalls the chain. Minerals are the exception because the body cannot manufacture them at all.

How does biofeedback actually work?

Biofeedback sends known frequencies into the body and interprets the signal that returns. Because every element resonates at its own rate, the return signal indicates what is present. Armes compares it to a metal detector surveying ground.

How much does a biofeedback unit cost?

Armes owns three. She rates the Vital Unit from Standard Enzyme highest at roughly $30,000, an in-body scanner at around $20,000, and a handheld option at about $149 per month as the accessible entry point.

What four changes does Armes recommend starting with?

Get regular sun exposure, ground yourself on the earth, use unrefined salt instead of table salt, and remove sugar, dairy, and grain. She says all four cost little or nothing and produce a noticeable difference within a week.

How long does it take to clear dairy & gluten from the body?

Armes says you can feel a change within three days and a substantial one within a week, but clearing dairy and gluten out of the cells themselves takes roughly three months.

Biofeedback & testing

Standard Enzyme Vital Unit: The meridian-based biofeedback system Armes rates highest of the three she owns. Best for practitioners who can invest in training, since she says the learning curve is the real cost.

AO Scan handheld: The roughly $149 per month option Armes names as the accessible entry point into biofeedback. Best for someone testing the approach before committing to clinical-grade hardware.

Live blood and darkfield microscopy: Armes uses before and after blood imaging to show clients what changes after a week of retreat food. Best for making an abstract dietary change visible.

Foods & supplements

Spirulina and chlorella: Armes points here first for a complete amino acid profile from whole food. Best for anyone covering protein building blocks without another isolated powder.

Redmond Real Salt: One of the unrefined salts Armes recommends over standard table salt. Best for replacing the salt you already use rather than adding a supplement.

Methylene blue: Armes suggests pairing it with red light therapy rather than using red light alone. Best for people already running a light protocol who want to test a stack.

Sprouted organic pumpkin seeds: Her whole-food pick for amino acids, which she also credits with antiparasitic properties. Best for a simple daily addition rather than a capsule.

Where to find Zuzu

Zuzu Unleashed: Her main hub, and the destination she names on the episode. Links through to her school and retreat programming.

Holistic Health Educators: The school she co-founded, where she teaches practitioner certification. Best for anyone considering formal training in the field.

Then she gets pregnant, decides she does not want those drugs in her daughter, and uses food to walk herself off all 3. She’s been seizure-free for almost 40 years.

Nick Urban [00:01:16]:
My guest is Karen Ames, or Zuzu for short, and she’s taught thousands of people to become their own healers.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:01:24]:
Welcome, Karen.

Nick Urban [00:01:24]:
Welcome to the show.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:01:26]:
I love that intro. I just wanna listen to it again. It was so cool. I forget sometimes, you know, you just, it’s quite a journey. It’s been amazing. Yeah.

Nick Urban [00:01:36]:
Well, take us back to that school bus. When did you first suspect that your answer wasn’t gonna be in a pill bottle, pill bottle, or bottle of any kind?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:01:46]:
Well, I certainly had no idea it was happening. I think I was 5 or 6 when the first seizure happened. And I just remember getting off the bus and I was drooling, you know, and I just, it was just a I always had such an awful experience. I came into the home and as a 5 or 6-year-old would, I’m just like, I started shaking, Mom, you know, my face, it was weird. And my mom had no idea. So we just, over the next really quite a few years, just repositioned my head, got a waterbed, got different pillows. Like we had no idea. And when I was 12, I had a seizure and I came downstairs and my mother saw the seizure and that’s when we went to the hospital.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:02:21]:
And then I got that lovely label and just told I have epilepsy, here’s 3 medications. Now I, you know, obviously know better. I had a GABA deficiency. Most, most seizures are a GABA deficiency, period. And yes, you can restore that with food and often a few other things. So, it’s been an amazing journey because, because of my experience, I’ve been able to help so many people who have seizures or Tourette’s or, you know, any kind of shaking or, and really that’s what GABA does. GABA’s the neurotransmitter that controls the electricity in the body. So, when someone has something electric going on that they can’t understand, or they’re really sensitive to EMFs, so they can’t calm down at night ’cause their brain won’t shut off, we’re looking at GABA.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:03:01]:
So I just, I love it. It awakened me to a world that I have immersed myself in without a single regret.

Nick Urban [00:03:09]:
Yeah. And a lot of the approaches we take these days, recreational or otherwise, they simply, one of the byproducts of them or the effects of them is that they restore GABA in the brain. They increase GABA because it seems that most of us are GABA deficient these days.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:03:24]:
Yes. And I have a, I have, I studied cannabis and spoke on cannabis for a long, long, long time. And It was funny ’cause I own, I, I copied all of the patents the government has on cannabis. All of you should just go do that. Like, just go download all the patents that the government owns on cannabis as one of those other things that people might use to help restore some GABA. And it is amazing. I remember there was a young child who came in who was having multiple seizures a day, and in the state I was living in, we, you know, it was illegal. And I’m like, well, here, just go across the border.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:03:54]:
It’s 3 hours away, and here’s an idea, you know?

Nick Urban [00:03:57]:
Mm-hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:03:57]:
And boom, sure enough, they never moved back.

Nick Urban [00:03:59]:
They stayed. Wow.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:04:00]:
Because their daughter no longer had seizures. And is, and people, I think people get this notion that, now mind you, you can restore GABA with food, but when it comes to using alternative things, we don’t, in the health industry, we don’t, we don’t recreationally go out there and tell people, hey, this is what you should be doing all the time, you know, for the, your greatest life ever. No, because addiction is not good and relying on any kind of substance is not good, but restoring GABA, and if it’s gonna keep you or your child from having seizures that can be very deadly, um, I’m all for it. So yes.

Nick Urban [00:04:31]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:04:31]:
place. I don’t know if that’s what you’re referring to, but I am because it is in those conversations with people who, you know, want to learn more about what they can do for their health. Again, not needed, but if you’ve got Parkinson’s, you have MS, you’ve got a lot of things, I’m telling you, patents are out there for all of it. No, I don’t grow it. No, I don’t use it. I’m just telling you that it’s available and it’s one of the options. So, yeah.

Nick Urban [00:04:53]:
And there’s also like more culturally acceptable things like alcohol. Those also work on the GABA system and it’s not going to be healthy. It’s not going to be uplifting. I mean, it feels good to temporarily, but one of the main effects of alcohol is that it works on GABA. And then also a lot of the medications that people are on for anxiety, nervousness, that kind of stuff, like these also work very strongly on the GABA systems and they are depleting in their own ways.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:05:17]:
Yes.

Nick Urban [00:05:18]:
And it seems that by first focusing on like restoring natural GABA, GABA signaling, all that kind of stuff, that’s a good place. And perhaps that will ameliorate the need to turn to things to artificially stimulate GABA?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:05:33]:
Oh yes. I mean, even GABA-rich foods. Who doesn’t like walnuts? I mean, some people might, if you, if you, if you can’t eat a walnut, if your tongue gets all weird, it’s because you’re sensitive to the lactic acid. That’s almost always why. So soak your walnuts overnight, rinse ’em. You’ll be disgusted at what comes off of your walnuts. Raw organic walnuts. They’re like beautiful until you soak them, then they’re totally gross.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:05:53]:
You don’t even wanna touch ’em, but then rinse ’em and then they’re amazing and you won’t have that tongue action. But walnuts, all your GABA-rich foods, your spinach, your walnuts, your bananas. There’s so many GABA-rich foods that can help restore GABA naturally. And I will tell you the biggest reason we are dealing with, I believe, according to Zuzu, the biggest reason we have a lot of GABA deficiency right now besides alcohol and way too much overmedication is hand sanitizer. Okay.

Nick Urban [00:06:17]:
Hello.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:06:18]:
Purell, all the crap that’s killing your microbiome. Just a note to self. Okay. All of yourselves out there, like you have what, 90 trillion, 70 to 90 trillion bacteria in the body, and over 95% of that is good bacteria.

Nick Urban [00:06:32]:
Hello.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:06:33]:
That’s amazing. I think it’s less than 1-point-something percent of the bacteria in our body are actually bad. And what gets rid of bad bacteria? Good bacteria. So if you’re killing all your good bacteria because you’re told to spray everything in the world with some crappy, you know, Lysol and Purell and hand sanitizer stuff, would you please rethink, number one, who’s telling you that? But number two, that’s not good. You don’t wanna kill your microbiome because you know how many prostate cancer cases there are because they simply don’t have… the men don’t have a diverse microbiome of their prostate? Did you even know you had one, guys?

Nick Urban [00:07:04]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:07:05]:
So like killing off our bacteria is bad and enhancing our bacteria and making them healthy again is good. And so yes, yes, yes. GABA is made primarily in the digestive system and it needs 2 things. It needs the proper pH and most people are way too acidic and it needs a diverse microbiome. So when we have a diverse microbiome, we make GABA naturally. We don’t need to rely on anything else. So yeah, there’s, there’s just so much behind GABA. We could just talk about GABA, but we have so much else to talk about, but I am with you on that.

Nick Urban [00:07:40]:
Yes. Yes. So that’s GABA could be an entire podcast. And in fact, it has been podcasts and it deserves its own podcast, but let’s go back and to your own journey. You did all of this before AI, obviously before internet. How did you go about figuring out what to even try?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:08:00]:
Hello, gray hair. Okay, so like, yeah, I’m ancient. I’m, oh my gosh, 58 years old. I’ll be 59 soon. But anyhow, I read library books. I went to the library. I studied. Like, that’s what you did, right? I just literally just immersed myself at the libraries and understanding what epilepsy was.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:08:18]:
Now, mind you, I didn’t have any children yet at that point, so I had a little more time. I was in college for, radio and TV broadcasting and religion, of all things. They don’t go together well, if you can imagine. But anyhow, but I studied religions from around the world. That was totally fun. Anyhow, so I just kept reading and then kept applying and doing. And I’m telling you what B vitamins can do and restoring the microbiome of the gut through sauerkrauts and probiotics and diversity in your fibers, because I don’t think people realize that their No, you are… your body can’t break down fiber at all, but your bacteria does. And so the bacteria in your body, that’s what breaks down the fiber.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:08:59]:
And the more diverse the fiber, the more diverse the microbiome. So having a salad with like carrots and tomatoes and a radish, oh, that’s nice. Like, that’s gonna feed some bacteria. Yay, go home. But like, if you’re adding some kohlrabi and some peas and some macadamia nuts and some pumpkin seeds and some hemp seeds and like 15 more vegetables, Arugula and spinach. Oh my gosh. Like your whole gut’s gonna be like, doof. And you’re gonna feed all these different microbes that are going to help you because that’s who makes your vitamin.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:09:30]:
If you’re low on vitamin B, hey guys, your B vitamins are made by your microbiome. Like that’s what they’re doing. Like they’re busy. Bacteria’s our friend. And even so much now, this is gonna, you mentioned AI, so I’m putting it out there. There are some of us who believe the microbiome of the body can actually affect how AI re… how we respond to all the electromagnetics that are in the body and that are being forced upon the body and what AI can do. So just putting it out there. So for those of you who know what’s coming, and we’re all aware, you know, you need to eat more fruit and vegetables and nuts and seeds and diversify your fiber.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:10:07]:
But I do wanna put a plug though, ’cause you mentioned like I didn’t use AI to research. I’m telling you all right now, please, please, please do not use AI to research health. I have written books upon books about this. I have a school of online natural healing. I have students all over the world. And we have a closed AI system in our school because I don’t want any of that influence.

Nick Urban [00:10:27]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:10:27]:
‘Cause they’re not right. When you, when you ask AI how to get rid of SIBO, they’re not gonna tell you ’cause they don’t know. They don’t, they don’t. Medical communities don’t know. And that’s what’s programming. So just always, always remember to look at what is, where your AI is being sourced and go to things like Natural News, go to things that are out there that are literally not allowing outside influences into their AI system. Because if you aren’t careful, if you’re just ChatGPTing everything, you are getting influenced by whoever paying a lot of money that you have no idea what’s going on there, right? I don’t even get it. I don’t want to get into politics, but wait till you find out who’s paying to influence AI right now because it didn’t work with social media.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:11:06]:
And so you got to be careful, guys. That’s all I’m saying. Be careful where you get your research.

Nick Urban [00:11:10]:
Totally. And especially if something like AI is trained on the corpus of human knowledge and it weights it all evenly. And if you’re looking at the modern solutions we have, they don’t really seem to be working. So if you don’t curate your sources well, you’re going to get average, perhaps even worse than average results. But go back to what you were saying a second ago. How does your microbiome impact AI?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:11:34]:
Well, that’s one thing we are all still studying right now. There’s a lot of people working on that, so I can’t give you some full disclosure right now because we’re still all experimenting and looking. But I’m just saying right now in front of this audience, please diversify your microbiome. If you are like, oh, I always take probiotics, I take Lactobacillus. Okay, that’s great. But did you know there’s a dozen more more forms of Lactobacillus than the one you’re taking? And did you ever hear of Bifidobacteria?

Nick Urban [00:11:58]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:11:58]:
There’s so many bacteria, and we present on all of them, ’cause we love them, but there’s just, I mean, there’s thousands of strains of bacteria that we haven’t even studied yet. And so, we aren’t putting them in capsules and telling people to take ’em. You don’t need to. Number one, you have an appendix, which thank God you still have your appendix. Those of you who don’t have an appendix, you will be on probiotics the rest of your life. So, please do research that. But we have this innate ability, because we have this incredible pharmaceutical factory underneath our skin to create bacteria when needed. We really do, but only if we have the building blocks there.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:12:34]:
So all I can tell you is we are putting bacteria at the forefront of research when it comes to how it can strengthen our bodies and really cause some phenomenal internal influence. Well, think of it. What got rid of all the oil in our big oil spills? Like what? Bacteria, you guys. Bacteria breaks down plastics. I mean, bacteria is everywhere. Our world’s covered in it. And it does something. It’s not just this evil thing you have to kill, kill, kill along with the parasites and the viruses, kill everything.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:13:05]:
Well, some of it you actually may need. So.

Nick Urban [00:13:09]:
Yeah. And also when you look at the things that kill all those different forms of microscopic life, usually it kills 99.9% if it’s a really good product, but then what happens to that other 0.1%, 0.01%? Like those are the super things that you don’t necessarily want to be selecting for. And when you wipe out everything but those, over time you’re selecting for those, and you’re also wiping out your natural defenses that keep, like, the huge colonies that keep the individual superbug over here in check.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:13:38]:
Well, think of what happens when people have, when, especially when women have a yeast infection, you know, then they go to the doctor and the doctor gives them antibiotics. Uh, well, okay, that’s lovely. So they feel better for a few days or a week. Um, but then boom, it’s even worse. But we then killed off all of our healthy bacteria that’s going to get rid of the yeast infection. And then we just start into a big circle. And don’t even get me going on L-form bacteria that hide in the body. So, like, we just need to be aware that bacteria, most all the bacteria in your body, on your skin, they’re your friends.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:14:09]:
Like, wake up in the morning, be like, I love you, bacteria. Take care of my skin. Like, love your body, love your bacteria. So.

Nick Urban [00:14:17]:
You said something a second ago that I want to underscore and explore with you also. And that is that we all have a pharmaceutical factory inside our bodies that responds to the raw materials that it’s given, what we eat, what we drink, what we put on ourselves, that kind of stuff. What in your research can the human body actually produce? Like for a little context, I prefer if I’m gonna supplement anything to make sure I have my mineral bases covered first because minerals are cofactors for a lot of other things that go on in the body. Even vitamins, the body can produce a ton of different vitamins or a handful of different vitamins between completely raw synthesis and then also in the microbiome itself.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:14:57]:
Mm-hmm.

Nick Urban [00:14:57]:
But the body cannot, as far as I’m aware, produce minerals. And, it’s also very easy to become deficient in minerals. What do you view as the approach to optimizing our internal pharmaceutical factories?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:15:10]:
Oh, my gosh. You’re getting me going on this one. So, I’m a chart fanatic. All my students know it. They have charts on amino acids, they have charts on vitamins, charts on minerals, charts on neurotransmitters, charts on every one of your omegas, chart, chart, chart, chart, right? And, I send these charts home with my clients. because they are mind-blowing when you understand what calcium does in the body, or carbon, right? Any of the minerals in the body, nitrogen, what you need, what it does, phosphorus, right? Potassium. And so, the building blocks of your body, your pharmacy cannot build a protein if you don’t have the amino acids that build the protein.

Nick Urban [00:15:48]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:15:49]:
So, for those of you who don’t know, a protein is simply a chain of amino acids that are linked together, and every protein in the body is different. Well, An enzyme can require 3,000 proteins, which you can’t even imagine the numbers of amino acids you need for that. But if you don’t have the amino acids, then you can’t build the protein, which then would build the enzyme. So, like, one of my clients today, she was low in elastase, and I said, okay, this probably means you’ve got something going on with the elasticity of the heart. And I pulled up her heart scan, boom, elasticity was off. I’m like, okay. So, I’m not gonna give you something for the heart issue when you actually just need to make the enzyme. And for elastase, you need these amino acids, right? So, for me, it’s the building blocks are everything.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:16:39]:
And you’re right, the body can make vitamins, but it needs the materials, right? Your vitamins and your minerals and your bio… well, biophotons come from the sun.

Nick Urban [00:16:46]:
Mm-hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:16:46]:
And yes, you need those. So, please don’t live in like a cave. But the minerals are the sparks of life. Like, the minerals are the sparks of life. They spark the body to function. It’s, it’s not even the material of the cal… of the calcium or the phosphorus or the zinc. It’s the spark of make… of the calcium the magnesium and the zinc or the manganese, right? The boron. Those are sparking something in the body.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:17:09]:
And so, when we wanna build something in our pharmacy, we need to have the building blocks. And the more diverse the diet, the more diverse the building blocks are going to be there. So, yes, that’s 100%. This pharmacy of yours, millions of dollars of pharmaceuticals come out of you, are made inside of you. And if you’re low on CoQ10, okay, go buy some or make it yourself. If you aren’t making enough collagen, why not?

Nick Urban [00:17:32]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:17:32]:
Yeah, you’re designed to make enough collagen. So, okay, are you gonna go buy collagen for the rest of your life? Why don’t you just start making more of it? And then you take these herbs. Like, it’s, ah, we’ve, we’ve, we’ve gone from, and it’s great, ’cause like what awakening there is now to natural health. I need more students because they’re needed all over the world. We’re actually putting together a whole, you know, directory now. But if anybody wants to get into this, this is the best time to jump onto the wagon and become an HHP or a holistic health coach or a TNC, because the world needs you.

Nick Urban [00:18:03]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:18:03]:
Yeah. However, what I don’t want is I don’t want people to go from, okay, there’s a pharmaceutical for everything, to, oh, there’s a natural supplement for everything.

Nick Urban [00:18:13]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:18:13]:
And I am driven crazy by the word biohacking. It’s fine. It’s totally cool. Everyone talks about biohacking and red light therapy’s amazing. It is. I own red lights, right? But don’t, you don’t have to rely on biohacking for everything when your body can make all of what you need, most of what you need, if you have the ingredients.

Nick Urban [00:18:31]:
Mm-hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:18:32]:
So yes, there’s a time and place, and if you’re gonna use red light, please take methylene blue, it’s going to be even better. Like, like there’s great things you can take, but you don’t always need that. I think we need to get back into kitchen hacking. So I’m the kitchen hacker. I’ve dubbed myself that because I’m a chef and I love sharing food with people. But, um, and I’ve just, I’ve had 2 cafes and I love it. But when people realize that you can start healing from the food that you eat, your life just changes.

Nick Urban [00:18:56]:
Mm-hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:18:57]:
So the minerals, super important. All your minerals, you know, you’re obviously understanding fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. Most people don’t understand all those, uh, and your vitamins, your healthy Fats, you need healthy fats. There are so many amazing nutrients that are just phytonutrients that are in your garden all the time. Just go grab a carrot, like just get back to gardening, get back to Mother Nature and you’ll, you’ll be fine. You’ll have the building blocks, but if they’re not there, you’ve, you can’t build them.

Nick Urban [00:19:27]:
You’ve made it clear that getting the building blocks is important and that our bodies are capable of doing these things. There’s obviously certain situations when the body does not do these things either enough Adequately, sometimes not optimally. And also, how do we even go about getting these raw materials? I’m going to assume based on what you’re saying, it’s mainly through diet wherever possible. And then we, if we need to, we supplement on top of that.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:19:53]:
Yeah, it is your diet. Absolutely. But if you’re looking, I mean, if you’re just getting conventional food grown, who knows where, you’re darn right. You’re not getting your minerals and your vitamins because it costs money to put all that into the garden. Like when something’s fortified, don’t ever buy it, by the way. When it’s fortified, it was so bad and there were no nutrients to that food that the government made them fortify it to sell it. You guys understand, like food, the food industry is crazy. And so if it’s fortified, you never look at it.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:20:21]:
That means it’s so toxic. And what did they fortify it with? Ground up rocks, because that’s cheap. It’s much cheaper to give you ground up rocks as your minerals instead of the ferric form of, you know, they’ll give you ferric form of iron instead of ferrous because it costs a a lot cheaper. It’s pretty cheap, right? And so, we do wanna look at food as being the number one source, and organically grown food is much better. But yes, you even have to be careful there. So, just understanding that food is where you get so many of the nutrients, yes. And then, if not, yes, supplementation. And I do really encourage people to go right to, you know, spirulina, chlorella, some of the seaweeds that are full of incredible beneficial nutrients for the body, all your amino acids.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:21:03]:
And they’re even, they’re all found in spirulina. They’re all found in pumpkin seeds, like a sprouted Organic pumpkin seed. Oh my gosh, can’t even get better. It tastes phenomenal. Also kills parasites and reverses prostate issues. So, hey guys, really good stuff, right? So I think if we, if we at least put on the hat of organic, now I will tell you, organic does not cost more. I know you believe it, but hear me out on this one. If you get rid of, if you’re, if you stop sucking out of a cow, like give up the wet nurse, you are all grownups.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:21:30]:
Like you don’t need to suck out of a cow to get your calcium. That is a, that is a myth that the calcium industry called the milk industry told you that you needed. The dairy industry funded that.

Nick Urban [00:21:38]:
You don’t.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:21:38]:
You don’t need to suck out of a cow to get calcium. That’s almost hysterical since we are the number one leading cause of osteoporosis in the world and we drink more milk than anyone in the world. So please, please know that that was a sales gimmick, just like you have to eat dead animals to get protein. That is a sales gimmick. I don’t care. Eat a dead animal. I have half a cow growing on our local farm. It’s our family farm in my cow… in my, in my fridge, in my freezer.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:22:01]:
But I don’t, I don’t eat it. I don’t like meat very much, but I’m just saying.

Nick Urban [00:22:04]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:22:04]:
I’m just saying, look at who’s telling you what to do and then realize, oh, that’s an industry. Calcium is a mineral, comes out of the ground. Boron’s a mineral, comes out of the ground. Proteins are made from amino acids. All amino acids come from plants. All amino acids come from plants. All 100% of them come from plants. How do you think the animal got the protein? It ate amino acids to build the protein.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:22:29]:
And look at the strongest animals on earth. They don’t eat animals, they eat plants. How would you think the chimpanzee and the gorilla, and how do you think that they function? They eat plants because that’s where your amino acids are that build your protein to give you that power strength. Again, I don’t care. You can eat meat. I’m not at all knocking meat, but I am going to tell you dairy, you’re going to save so much money on your food bill. When you get rid of dairy, you get rid of grain and you get rid of sugar. Number one, you won’t just get savings on your food bill.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:22:58]:
You’ll stop with all your histamine reactions. You’ll feel a heck of a lot better. You’ll stop wheezing. I mean, I would assume your whole life will change getting off of sugar.

Nick Urban [00:23:05]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:23:05]:
sugar and dairy, you know, and, uh, and milk. Well, as I said that, sugar and grain, thank you, and milk, because those are all sugars and feed cancer and Candida and parasites anyways. So like, why bother? Just come to one of our retreats. You’re gonna love it. You won’t eat any dairy, you won’t have any grain, you won’t have any sugar, and you’ll never have better food. Like, I hear that all people come here from all over the world. They always tell me the same thing. Oh, I can never eat the way I was eating again because You just, it tastes so good.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:23:33]:
So don’t, and don’t buy gluten-free anything. Oh my gosh. It’ll taste crappy. Like just be careful. Gluten-free just means starch and you don’t want any more starches than you’re already eating. So just unless it’s starch-free, which is pretty randomly hard to find, I’d be a little careful.

Nick Urban [00:23:49]:
Yeah. You mentioned something also previously, that is you had a client who came to you and they had low elastase. How did you know that they had low elastase?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:23:58]:
Um, I just did some testing. We have different, we have at our, at our current center, we have over $100,000 of biofeedback testing. And then I do my own testing. So we, and we have blood work and, you know, we do all that. And she had sent me all her labs ahead of time, but her labs didn’t, she wasn’t tested for, uh, her enzymes. And so we did some tests on enzyme.

Nick Urban [00:24:17]:
Hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:24:18]:
But it was interesting cuz then it showed up in her heart. And then when I said, okay, and you know, here, your pulmonary valves, your pulmonary arteries, whatever, you know, all the scans are showing. She’s like, that’s what I’m dealing with. And I’m like, okay. So it’s, it’s really neat. People don’t realize how if you get the right biofeedback unit, you can have some incredible results. Like these are used, the same unit I’m using, I have 2 different, well, 3 different units, but I have the unit I use today. It’s all over Asia.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:24:45]:
There’s like 30,000 plus of these biofeedback units all over Asia. If you go to a clinic or a hospital, you’re going to go and get biofeedback done because it works.

Nick Urban [00:24:52]:
Right.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:24:53]:
And we’ve used it here in America. There’s medical doctors who own this equipment. There’s surgeons who own this equipment here in America. They They just can’t use it on their clients because it’s not covered by insurance, but they buy the units for their own families because it works. So yeah, and Rife machines, I’ve got medical doctors who are my friends who own Rife machines. Another one just bought one. We have medical doctors who come through our school on a regular basis and lots of nurses, probably a third of our students are medical doctors and nurses, only because this was stuff that they weren’t taught in medical school. And what a great complement it is.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:25:24]:
The medical doctor who just joined us, she came on one of our first calls in her group, and she was like, I’m using all this, everything I’m learning. I’m gonna be teaching whatever I can that I’m allowed to, because it just, it just like fills in the cracks. And I think biofeedback can help a lot of people kind of fill in those cracks. I did have this naive thought 2 decades ago when I started doing this, that I could just take my biofeedback unit and show the doctors and the hospitals staff, how we can find what’s wrong. I even called insurance companies. I’m like, look at this, Blue Cross Blue Shield, right? I’m like, we, I can show you that we can see what’s going on in the body decades before you’re gonna find it. So we could actually help you. So these people wouldn’t have to pay so much for insurance.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:26:09]:
Okay. That was when Karen was a little naive and still had dark hair. No one wants, no, there’s no money in healthy people, Karen. There’s just no money in healthy people. And it just took me all these decades to realize it’s true. There’s no money in healthy people. There’s only money in sick people. So, I had a big wake-up call and then just learned to appreciate and need the necessary role that our doctors play, because we need emergency medicine.

Nick Urban [00:26:36]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:26:37]:
I love the diagnostics. I mean, my phone, I have 30, 50, whatever medical doctors that are my friends in my phone. Like, we love each other. We need each other. I’m just thankful that a lot of society’s woken up that we need both Western and Eastern medicine. You know, 5,000 years traditional Chinese medicine’s been around, 230 Ameri… not even that long, the American Western civilization of medicine. Okay, 5,000 years compared to 200 years.

Nick Urban [00:27:03]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:27:03]:
I think there’s good things we can learn. So, if we can incorporate them together and bring back what was taken out at the Flexner Report in 1910, then I think, you know, we’d have a, we’re going there. I know we’re going there because people want it. People are demanding it. People want it. For Pete’s sake, you can get organic chia seeds at Walmart for people are asking. So.

Nick Urban [00:27:24]:
Yeah. Well, it’s interesting you mentioned that. I think that we are a bit myopic in the USA, at least in terms of like, we only accept what’s validated here. And if something is working well around the rest of the world, we don’t even consider it. It’s unscientific. It’s pseudoscience until we have all kinds of double-blind placebo-controlled randomized crossover trials to prove it. And like, until then it’s pseudoscience. And then after that, only then is it proven.

Nick Urban [00:27:51]:
And the people don’t, they don’t, there’s no apologies afterwards. Oh yeah, you were actually using this the whole time. You were right. It’s just like, no, it’s accepted now. And with biofeedback, that’s something specifically that I’ve been coming across for years and specifically become more interested in recently because Because with elastase, I’m not sure if you can measure that in the blood. I’m not sure if it’s like very stable and repeatable. There’s a lot of things you cannot measure via most modern tests that we use routinely here. And as a result, I mean, minerals are a classic example.

Nick Urban [00:28:23]:
If you see, you look, you look at a blood serum, you see magnesium is normal. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the tissue levels of magnesium are normal. And then there’s red, red blood cell magnesium specifically for that, but, and, and that’s a little better. But it’s still one of many, many. And most people will never get RBC magnesium done. And so, it’s like there’s a lot of issues that we can’t really accurately detect using our conventional methods. So, if you use a different diagnostic system and the patient, the client, they make changes as a result of what that scan shows, they improve, you would think that over time we would adopt that realizing that, you know what, this actually is working consistently across across a large enough audience, a large enough demographic, but it doesn’t seem that that happens. So, all that to say, what is biofeedback and what do you notice from it?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:29:16]:
Well, that’s a great question. Biofeedback’s extremely easy to understand. So, we were all taught in elementary school and then definitely middle school about the periodic table of elements. Of course, that should be retitled to the periodic table of electricity because if there’s one proton, then there’s one And that electron… well, there could be a couple more, but that electron’s orbiting the atom, right? So the proton’s in the middle of that atom, and we have the electron orbiting it. If there’s 2 protons, you have 2 electrons. If there’s 12 protons, you have 12 electrons. That’s magnesium, right? So magnesium and zinc and copper and boron and phosphorus and, and, and zinc, everything vibrates differently. And because we’re electrical beings, we need those vibrations.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:30:02]:
The vibration of calcium is what triggers the red blood cells to make, you know, thicker bones for the bone marrow. Boom. Like, it’s the frequency of magnesium that relaxes the muscles. It’s the frequency of calcium that constricts the muscles. It’s the frequency of zinc that helps the man be able to have a great expression of love, if you know what I’m talking about, right? So zinc and selenium is incredibly important for the skin, on and on and on. Iodine, you can’t even have energy or metabolize anything hardly at all without iodine, ’cause iodine’s needed to make T4. The 4 stands for 4 molecules of iodine.

Nick Urban [00:30:33]:
Mm-hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:30:34]:
In the thyroid hormones. So, like, we need minerals, and they all vibrate differently. So, here’s the cool part. Just like if I have a metal detector, we have 69 acres, so we can go outside, and we can look for metal everywhere, and we can program metal detectors. We can just look for different metals and send a bunch of frequencies into the ground, whatever advanced metal detector you have. That’s exactly biofeedback. We use it all the time. Matter of fact, I, oh my gosh, I’m so excited about this.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:31:01]:
So, I love archaeology. I was so into… actually, it was one of my minors in college. I loved archaeology. And if you send frequencies into the ground, you can find these old remnants that are, like, deep into the earth. You can find them, and you can find the stone. And from this, you can go up into the air over the Amazon, and you can see that the Amazon has thousands and thousands of perfectly symmetrical geometric, you know, shapes under the trees because we can send frequencies through the trees to the ground.

Nick Urban [00:31:34]:
Wow.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:31:34]:
Shoot the ground, and we are looking for feedback of specific kind. So, if we use feedback, and we use this, hello, talk about the hospitals, we use feedback all the time in the hospitals. It’s just in a fancy machine, and you don’t know what it’s doing, but how do you think they get rid of kidney stones, right? So, there’s so many things we could talk about, but specifically to the biofeedback units that we use, when you send frequencies, when you figure out frequencies, which we’ve done for hundreds of years, because radionics has been around, radionics, you know, led to the Rife machine. Dr. Rife was brilliant.

Nick Urban [00:32:02]:
Right.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:32:03]:
He studied in San Diego in the early ’20s, and he found that if we can find the vibrational frequency of everything, let’s say every parasite, every bacteria, a cancer cell, a kidney stone, a gallstone, then if we put that in a Petri dish and we put that same frequency into the Petri dish, it’s gonna explode. It’s called harmonic resonance. And if you think of harmonic resonance, this is every opera singer can be like, I love that vase, right? And she sings. Well, what’s gonna happen to the vase if she sings the exact same pitch, the exact same atomic frequency that the vase, the crystal vase, the stained glass window, whatever it is, that it is vibrating at, because all of the atoms in the crystal vase are vibrating at the same frequency. And if the frequency comes in from the opera singer and it’s the exact same frequency, it’s gonna burst.

Nick Urban [00:32:52]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:32:53]:
So why aren’t we blowing up kidney stones? Oh, we are. Oh, oh, that’s what we do in every hospital. Okay, so why aren’t we getting rid of gallstones? Why aren’t we getting rid of cancer cells? We know what they vibrate at. I’m Dr. Morris. That’s what he did. Dr. Murray, he found out all sorts of cancer and what all, he’s passed away, all the different vibrational frequencies of different cancers.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:33:15]:
And if we know these vibrational frequencies, then why don’t we treat them? We can with the Rife machine, but we can also use these vibrational frequencies, Nick, to go into the body and detect what’s in the body. So to detect…

Nick Urban [00:33:29]:
Hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:33:29]:
If this person has different staph infections or blah, blah, blah. It’s just there. And it’s awesome because it’s becoming more and more recognized. Of course, some crazy host in Europe… I’m on podcasts almost every day all over the world, right? And some guy in Europe, I think he had me on for entertainment. He wanted to like show people how he could totally humiliate somebody who thought they knew what they’re talking about. He just didn’t know he was talking to me. But anyhow, so that didn’t turn out so great for him.

Nick Urban [00:33:55]:
Thank God.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:33:55]:
Thank you. But I will say he wanted to really push against biofeedback, and you can’t because we use it. Every electrician uses it, every water, you know, and all of the whole world uses biofeedback, but biofeedback to the human body, very recognized and used outside of our country. If you’re in America, it is, and it’s respected outside the country, just like essential oils are used outside of the country. And here it’s, oh, you want some lavender with your massage? Right? No, no, no.

Nick Urban [00:34:23]:
No.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:34:24]:
You have to take a year of essential oil study to become a medical doctor in France. France, by the way. So biofeedback units, you can use them, but please get a good one because there’s, there’s a lot of them that pop up and like, here’s a biofeedback. If you use this, it’ll tell you what products you need from my product store. Oh, that’s, that’s real great, honey.

Nick Urban [00:34:43]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:34:43]:
It’s programmed with only the 55 or 74 things that company sells. Okay. What’s… I know, whatever. So we use biofeedback and we send the frequency of elastase and everything from biotin, everything goes in. We get a feedback out. We get I use those 24 pages to pick comprehensives. We do comprehensives. Our vital unit, we can even take people’s hair and saliva and burn a homeopathy for ’em.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:35:09]:
And by the way, homeopathy is used by more than 80% of all people living on the planet. Some of you have never heard of homeopathy or homeoprophylaxis, but it’s real. And so homeopathy is very powerful medicine, but there’s absolutely zero, zero dollars in homeopathy. You can make your own, for Pete’s sake.

Nick Urban [00:35:28]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:35:28]:
You know, and it’s so powerful. I think biofeedback and bringing people’s awareness that there are other ways to see what’s going on in the body. Now, I will tell you, I still rely on diagnostic testing from my local hospital or my medical doctors that I work with. I will call in and place orders for things when I need them. If it wasn’t for the diagnostic testing that I arranged for my daughter, we weren’t… we wouldn’t have been able to eliminate eliminate so many hundreds of things that could have been wrong with her when she was bedridden for 4 and a half years.

Nick Urban [00:36:02]:
Mm-hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:36:02]:
Uh, and so, we utilized a lot. I utilized it differently. I had ultrasounds done every 10 minutes before she ate, while she ate, and after she ate to see what was going on. So, there’s a way to manipulate and use diagnostic testing to what you want, but people need to know, is it acid reflux or is it bile reflux? A lot of people dealing with acid reflux don’t even know that bile reflux exists or how to for it. I can’t do that test, but you can have that done at a hospital. So I want to give credit where credit is due. And I love diagnostic testing because for me, it rules things out. But for people who don’t have a lot of money, it might be quicker and easier to do some biofeedback along the way and save up some of that money for some of the tests, like a stool test.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:36:44]:
We do a lot of stool tests and we do a lot of testing, but in and out of the natural, natural… Yeah. In between, whatever, between Western and Eastern medical theologies, we use a lot of testing.

Nick Urban [00:36:57]:
You know, some people will look into biofeedback and they’ll find the product that you were describing a minute ago where it’s a company that tests and they have like their 20, 30 different things. And then they have their products that dovetail with those recommendations and they’ll say, oh, look, it doesn’t work. This is a scam. And it’s a straw man. It’s a very bad, like, look at the lowest quality product in a category. It doesn’t even really use the technology of the category properly and then to disparage everything based on that one thing. So, if someone wants to look into the brands or products or whatever that are doing this right, such as myself, what would we look for to find a reputable biofeedback system? And, I know a lot of them, the clinical ones are quite pricey. Perhaps there’s some that are less than a new car.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:37:41]:
Yes, I know. Isn’t that terrible? Someone I’ve worked with for 18 years now, 20 years now, they actually bought every one of the biofeedback units that were on the market and had their engineers from overseas take ’em all apart and see what they were using, how they were working, and what was the base. Like, what were they using for frequencies? And some of ’em didn’t even have frequencies embedded into it. It was all placebo. And that’s the cheap ones. So, I will tell you, there’s 3 units that I love, 2 that I love, and I have both of these. And then, I have a 3rd unit, which is like an in-body scan.

Nick Urban [00:38:15]:
Mm-hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:38:16]:
And that’s like $20,000. or something, depending on which one you buy. But the, I love the Vital Unit. That’s the number one in the world, I think. It’s from Standard Enzyme. It’s incredible. If you’re interested, let me know, ’cause I can probably get you some money off because we work a lot together and I’ve worked with them for years. But the Vital Unit is incredible.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:38:33]:
It is much harder to use because you go in through all the meridians. But once you get that, once you have the training, it is life-altering. It is incredible. And what’s awesome about that company, and that Standard Enzyme that makes the Vital Unit, Standard Enzyme also is the one owns everything to Capsule T, which is, you know, what, 97% success rate against stage 1 and stage 2 cancers. Like, so much research done on these products. These people are great. So, but what I will tell you, of course, that is using… I should elaborate on that at some point. We can talk about cancer.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:39:02]:
But, but I will just point out, they allow you to also put in whatever products you want, even if it’s not their products. They don’t care. They’re like, here, it comes with all these embedded, but here you can add whatever else you want. So…

Nick Urban [00:39:15]:
What does that What does that mean? What do you mean by put products in and embedded? Sure.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:39:19]:
So, when you do a biofeedback with the Vital unit, it’ll spit out a protocol. It’ll be like, hey, this person has a miasm. This is what I’m going to recommend for the miasm. This person’s dealing with ADD, ADHD, this person. And so, here are some products we would recommend. It kind of can spit it out for you and propose a recommendation protocol. That is, by the way, the Vital is so spot on. It is absolutely incredible.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:39:43]:
I have it to test people’s hair and saliva that are in comas that have been literally set to die. I test them and I’m like, well, looks to me like there was a problem with the pancreas, a problem with this, and they’re a lot… a high level of mold exposure. And the son in particular was like, there’s no mold. There’s… this is ridiculous. I’m like, I’m just telling you what I found. Your sister hired me, whatever, right? And so he goes to his dad’s house looking for mold, and where his father was sleeping, the vent from down below that came up where his father was completely covered in mold. He went downstairs. It was a storage unit covered in mold.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:40:22]:
His dad hadn’t been down there in a decade or so, right? And so, boom, he’s like, well, I have to eat my words on this. And they gave him a protocol and he came out of a coma and it was… I think he’s still alive. It’s been 20 years. So, like…

Nick Urban [00:40:34]:
Wow.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:40:34]:
I’m not kidding you. When you can come And when you couple the Western and Eastern modalities, so much can be beneficial. So, the Vital is probably the king, and then there’s the Quest, and then the AO, but not… there’s an AO handheld, it’s $149 a month. That’s nice. You can get that. You can get some really good results with that. But I have the big unit, which is what, $30-some thousand or so? And the Vital is also, they’re pretty pricey, but the AO unit. But here’s the kicker, Nick.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:41:03]:
It’s all about the person you’re meeting with. It really is, because I can look at someone’s results and someone else can look at someone’s results and we may have… well, they can be the same results, but because of the experience I have compared to maybe that person.

Nick Urban [00:41:16]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:41:17]:
So, always just, you know, be conscious of who you’re meeting with, but there’s so much help out there. And even with the AO, they’ve got help, Vital Unit. You have a lot of training, training seminars all the time. I’m also part of that training, uh, with the seminars and products. And so there’s a lot of good out there, but yeah, there’s money to be spent everywhere. You just have to be careful where you spend it. But those are the 3. I don’t do anything with the Quest, but I do respect it.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:41:41]:
I’m very familiar with how it works. I’m just like, if you’re looking for the top 2, the Quest and the AO are probably equal.

Nick Urban [00:41:49]:
Hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:41:49]:
Okay. I’m not getting paid to say any of that. That was just my opinion.

Nick Urban [00:41:54]:
Okay.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:41:55]:
Okay.

Nick Urban [00:41:55]:
I’ve heard you say previously that disease isn’t a life sentence. It’s a set of missing pieces. For someone who doesn’t have access to all of this gear, how do they go about finding the missing piece?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:42:07]:
I’m telling you, you have no idea. There’s 3 things people could do right now and they would see their health change. Well, 4, including that thing. The sun. Please, please, please, please get in the sun. Please get in the sun. Please get in the sun. If you’re on a medication that tells you you can’t get in the sun, find every way possible to titrate off that medication and get on a different one because you need the sun.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:42:30]:
We were born to be in the sun. We need the sun and we don’t get near enough sunlight. Our animals don’t get enough sunlight. The sun is unbelievable. The earth is unbelievable. Touching the earth and grounding with the earth. You cannot ground in your subdivision anywhere anymore, probably in Europe, but not in America because we never built another Y system. We have way too much dirty electricity running in this, in our backyards.

Nick Urban [00:42:53]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:42:53]:
So please go to the ocean or go find a great You know, picnic place or a forest or whatever, but you need to ground, ground, ground. You can also just get grounding pads and grounding sheets. You can use different grounding methods in your own home, thank God. But always test. This is so important. Always test to make sure you’re plugging into a grounded outlet because not all outlets are grounded. And then the third thing is salt. People don’t have enough good salt.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:43:18]:
I know that sounds atrocious. People are telling you all the time to cut back on your salt. Well, Well, don’t, I would never recommend Morton salt or any of the table salts, but I do recommend real, like, you know, like Real Salts and Himalayan salts and black salts and sea salts. Like, we, I think a lot of people are very, very salt deprived. And then the other major thing is the avoidance, the avoiding the 3 big things, the sugar, the dairy, and the grain. If people went sugar and dairy and grain-free, I’m telling you, you will feel it in a week. You will feel incredible in a month if you just stop the sugar, grain and the dairy. Those are all addictive.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:43:55]:
Trust me, they’re addictive. But you are not born, you were not born to live on all of that. And we eat way too much grain. That’s to fatten the cow up. I’m from Wisconsin. I know what grain does, right? That’s not to… and look what it did to Americans. I mean, we’re sucking out of a cow, which the milk… and just to put your mind at ease, the milk that comes out of the cow is to bring a baby calf from what, 60 or 80 pounds?

Nick Urban [00:44:21]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:44:22]:
of pounds. So, okay, look at America. We’re all sucking outta cows and now half of us look like we’re a couple hundred pounds, right? More than we should be. And then grain. Grain fattens everything up. So we aren’t… you can have some grain, you can sprout it, you can grow it, you can… my daughter just sent me a loaf of organic, beautiful wheat bread. Like, I’m not gonna eat it. It’s amazing, right? It’s all… it’s fun.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:44:43]:
I’m gonna eat it, but I don’t live off of it. We don’t need grain 3 times a day. You don’t even need grain 1 time a day. And of course we don’t need sugar. And so it should Which is fun. It’s just interesting. I think if people were to get in the sun, drink more water, touch the earth, get some healthy salt, and avoid spending money… their hard-earned money does not need to go on a bunch of junk that’s never gonna feed your cells or help you get rid of dis-ease in the cell. That’s where all your dis-ease comes from.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:45:14]:
Dis-ease is a cell issue. The cell is deficient. The cell has too much of something. The cell is clogged, like it can’t reproduce, or it’s dying too quickly.

Nick Urban [00:45:23]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:45:24]:
We have to look at the state of the cell and then really address dis-ease at its head.

Nick Urban [00:45:33]:
How do we do that? How do we actually look at the cell? And obviously not with our eyes, probably not under a microscope, but if someone says, I need to look at my cell, or you know that they need to do that, how do they actually do that?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:45:44]:
You just opened up a window. I must, must, must show you something. So for those of you who can see the video that is going right now, I’m going to hold up 2 videos. And these are, we do a lot of videos here. I mean videos, we’ve had a lot of retreats here. And where is my favorite? Oh my gosh, I’ve got to find this for you. But we have, there we go, albums. We do retreats and people come and they eat our food and they’ll eat our food for, let’s say, 7 days or 8 days.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:46:20]:
Their blood completely changes. It is absolutely Amazing. And I absolutely can’t find it right now. This is… I’m so sad. But what I would show you, if I was able to find this right now, is you would find blood in a person who is very, very sick, and it is all coagulated, it’s all stuck together, there’s not even space in and around the blood. And then after 7 days of eating our food, just no, no, like I said before, no sugar, no dairy, no gluten, it is all beautiful. It is absolutely incredible. And so that That is, we see it all the time in their blood.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:46:53]:
So, you can use microscopes to see that because it is life-changing to see that because all of a sudden you’re like, wait a minute, in 7 days I can do that to my blood? But then, yeah, the other thing is just start. Even if you can’t afford anything, you can go outside in the sun. You can afford to drink more water, just don’t drink it from your tap. You can afford to eat more vegetables than fruit or meat or dairy. You can afford to not buy Meat or dairy or grain. If you’re gonna go crazy, just get rid of all of it, right? If you’re type A and you just wanna heal the body, go for it. If you can afford to go dig a pit in your backyard and lay in the ground and get some earthing, if you are living in Mother Nature. So there’s a lot of things you use excuses for that you can’t afford.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:47:40]:
Oh, I can’t afford to eat organic. And then you go to Starbucks and whatever. And I’ll give you a perfect I’ll give you an example. We had a woman come in last week. This is such a sad story. She came in, she’s overweight, unhealthy, can’t work, can’t make a baby, totally has lethargy, just fibromyalgia, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, right? And she comes in with her mom and I’m like, okay. She goes, well, I’m here, but I was up all night. I really, I don’t even believe this.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:48:06]:
I’m like, well, if you don’t believe it, you shouldn’t be here ’cause I don’t wanna waste your $300 and I don’t wanna waste my time, you know? So whatever. And she’s like, okay, well, I’m gonna do it.

Nick Urban [00:48:15]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:48:15]:
And so I just put on the science hat. I just filled her up, And she was like blown away 3 or 4 times. She’s like, I can’t believe this. I’ve never heard any of this. I said, why hasn’t your doctor told you this? She’s like, I don’t know. Like, and I just, I was pretty blunt with her because she was coming from this ooh, boo, boo thing. I sent her home with the protocol and I’m telling you, it would’ve been amazing for her. She comes in, her mom, she sent her mom to return her protocol ’cause her doctor told her she shouldn’t take iodine, it might mess up her medication.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:48:41]:
And I’m like, you’re not on medication. You are desperately in…

Nick Urban [00:48:45]:
No.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:48:45]:
You can see it. I did every iodine test on her skin in front of her. She could see it. I could see that she was deficient. I said, I’m like, when I told the lady working with us, she was really bothered by this ’cause she knew the woman and she was doing really… I said, sweetheart, sometimes people’s identity is their dis-ease. It is their identity because if they weren’t going to a doctor every other day with their mother, and if they weren’t spending money on this and spending money on this and having to move in with their mom, and if people weren’t giving them attention because they have fibromyalgia or MS or whatever, I mean, Right. Maybe sometimes disease is their identity and we can’t be mad at that. It’s her identity.

Nick Urban [00:49:20]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:49:20]:
It’s who she is. It is who she is. And sometimes that happens. And it is, and for those of you, you know, in this world, you know that, that sometimes people would rather just take the consequences of their actions than make the change because it’s a lot easier. And that’s okay. We can’t be mad at them. We can’t be mad at a mom who’s feeding her kids potato chips all day long and hot dogs when She might not, that’s wrong obviously. And we’re looking at leukemia down the road, but okay, maybe not leukemia, but something severe.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:49:51]:
But we also, when they’re ready, they’ll ask and you can always put a couple things out there. A woman in particular was in the restroom one time and she was wearing, she had a tattoo about her daughter who had passed away. And I said, oh, I said, so young. I said, and I said, was that SIDS? She goes, oh yeah, they have no idea. I said, well, why don’t you just out the big V word, you know? And her eyes lit up and she’s like, what? I said, just check it out. And she goes, and she’s like, I will. And I’m like, I know you will. You know, sometimes people don’t know because they haven’t heard and it’s okay to mention a little something.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:50:29]:
So it’s okay to mention something. It really is.

Nick Urban [00:50:32]:
Yeah. It’s something that I come across and I haven’t known what the right thing to do there is. It’s like, you’re not going to push someone and like force them into have, like changing their identity, obviously that’s not going to work. But, for some people, having that reframe or seeing a different perspective, even just a different potential perspective, can be all it takes. So, how do you actually know what to do when?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:50:55]:
That’s a good question. So, we do a lot with the brain, we do a lot with the mind. And, I will say there are times I am positive vaccinations have been extremely helpful and we can see that in the past. I’m not a fan and I recommend everyone educate before you period. Okay, moving on. So how do we know? So we work a lot with the mind and, oh, by the way, this entire thing is for entertainment purposes only. You can’t take a thing. I’m not a medical doctor.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:51:18]:
Okay, there we go. So we work with the mind and a lot of people are stuck in sympathetic autonomic nervous disorder.

Nick Urban [00:51:27]:
Mm-hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:51:27]:
So they’re literally stuck speaking the words that they’ve always spoken and they’re in, they put them in sympathetic state. So most people might know by now that there’s 2 basic states of the nervous system, rest and digest, which is parasympathetic, and then fight or flight, which is sympathetic. Well, there’s 2 ways that your mind operates. Your mind right now is in parasympathetic because you’re listening to me talk, we’re having conversation, you’re learning, you’re growing, you’re digesting your food. But when this conversation ends and then you turn off the podcast and you’re gonna go make dinner, you’re gonna run your kids around for their activities, you’re gonna go do whatever, you may go into sympathetic state ’cause now there’s lots to do.

Nick Urban [00:52:09]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:52:09]:
Fight or flight, gotta get this done. The brain does the same thing. So recognizing and helping people understand that their mind might be stuck in sympathetic autogenetic, right? We’re talking our… we’re not genetics. Oh my gosh. We are talking about our auto-association programming is in sympathetic instead of parasympathetic. So we help people get from hands to pans, right? Get away from the sympathetic autonomic system of functioning when it comes to our words and our thoughts over to the parasympathetic. So that’s what autogenic training can do, and that’s what we utilize. So we use a system called FLY, For Your Life, and we work with Lamont Wilcox.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:52:57]:
He is the… who created that system. It’s based on neuro-linguistics.

Nick Urban [00:53:02]:
Okay.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:53:02]:
linguistic reprogramming, but it takes it to the next level. It’s incredible. So, and we actually, our students get involved in that course. The people who sign up for the HHP course, which is our highest course, they get that, they get full access to it all because they need to understand that as we help our clients change their mindsets, they will change their life and their mindset towards healing and towards health. So that young lady in her early 20s really needs to change this before she’ll ever change her body, I will guarantee she’ll be in the exact same spot in 5 years. And sadly, so will her mother unless her mother just says, I’m done. So for all you mothers out there, there comes a time when you can’t keep… as adults, it’s time to not always take care of our kids. There’s a time when they need help and a time when they just expect it.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:53:56]:
So there’s a difference.

Nick Urban [00:53:57]:
And also you can just tell by the way someone speaks. If they say, I am fill in the blank condition, that gives you a window into their identity. And you can have an idea whether or not they’re going to be open to changing or even implementing the tools that you give them versus if they say, I have whatever this, or like, this is currently affecting me, like totally different life perspectives. The wording itself sounds pretty similar, but But it, like, that energy behind it is completely different.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:54:26]:
Amen. You hit it on the head. I am, I am, I am, or, well, I’m dealing with not a lot of sleep last week. That’s much different than, oh, I never get enough sleep. I only sleep 3 hours.

Nick Urban [00:54:36]:
I am an insomniac would be like the identity around it.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:54:42]:
Yep.

Nick Urban [00:54:45]:
Well, what do you think is missing in this conversation? What do people need to know about holistic health as you view it?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:54:55]:
Well, it’s, to me, it’s the pri… this is primary care. Primary care is waking up in the morning and stretching and smiling and being happier alive. And heck, you could even touch that appendix of yours or your liver and be like, hey, I love you guys. It’s going to be a great day. Like, and then waking up and moving your body. I sauna every morning at 150 140 degrees for an hour with my husband. I move, I exercise, I use kettlebells almost every day. I do squats.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:55:23]:
I am, you know, I’m, I’m even when we travel, we bring our kettlebell with us. We bring things with us. So we’re always exercising and moving our bodies. But you are what you assimilate. And you need to know if you’re assimilating properly. And we, you, we need to make sure that the villi are clean.

Nick Urban [00:55:41]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:55:41]:
And we can eat our foods and it’s absorbing properly. So just change the diet and get rid of mucus and gluten. Hello, that does something in the body. Mucus from another animal is going to mucify the body. That’s a word I just made up, but it’s going to get stuck in your cells and in your, in your villi, and then you can’t absorb appropriately. Gluten does just that. It’s glutinous to the body and it can literally, it’s a protein and it can, it holds things together. That’s why, that’s why gluten is found in your wheat to hold the wheat bread together.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:56:16]:
Yes, eat sprouted organic gluten, you know, I mean, you know, bread if you want it, but please don’t make it a daily consumption because you don’t need it. So I think the biggest thing is just realizing that they have, they have the authority over their body. This whole blame thing, this whole victimhood everyone puts themselves into, get over it. You’re not a victim, right? If you’re a victim of anything, it’s of your own choices. So now my Mind you, that’s not true when it comes to abuse. Been there, done that. Well, I haven’t done that, but I’ve definitely been there. And so we aren’t, we are, we can be victims from someone else’s brutal ways, but that doesn’t, if you can’t get out right now, there are definitely people hopefully you’re listening to or that are in your life, you can get out of that abuse.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:57:01]:
I don’t mean that abuse, but when we look at our own health and we have full agency to make choices over what we eat, you are now responsible for your diet. You’re responsible if you have diabetes, if you’re not taking chromium, if you’re not, whatever it might be, cleaning the liver. There’s so much you have total charge of today to change tomorrow. And if you don’t think you can make that difference, you can. And I wish I could have pulled up my before and after microscopy blood videos, but it looks like there was an update on my phone and now everything’s moved again.

Nick Urban [00:57:33]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:57:34]:
I gotta get a different phone. They stop messing with But it is really amazing to watch what happens. And in only 7 days, I, you keep your change, your life will change in 3 days if you cut out some of the bad food. I will put a note. It takes 3 months to get dairy and gluten out of the cells. So you can start getting it out of your bloodstream. You’ll start that. Then the body’s going to start detoxing it out of your fat tissues, your cells, whatnot.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:58:02]:
And you will be losing that, but it does take a few months to get it completely out of the body. Wow.

Nick Urban [00:58:06]:
You’re speaking my language. I have a nice professional microscope right over here that I just got, and I’m planning on running live blood analysis and darkfield microscopy to see these types of interventions, how they change things. So, cool to hear that you’re actually already using something similar and you’re seeing a difference.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:58:25]:
Yeah. I love live blood cell analysis. We love it. And, it’s really cool because you can do it before a sauna, after a sauna, before a Rife test, a Rife treatment, after the Rife treatment, before exercise, after exercise, before the H2O bought the hyperbaric chamber after that. I mean, it’s just, you’re going to have so much fun. You really will.

Nick Urban [00:58:43]:
So we’ve talked a lot about food so far, and I’ve heard you say that food carries a frequency. I often talk about food as information. And you’ve said that sprouts are the highest frequency food and that roses carry the highest angstrom of anything on earth. That’s an interesting perspective I hadn’t heard of. Where’d that come from for you?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:59:04]:
Study, study, study. Remember this study person? I will show you my graph. So the 4th edition of my book is like minutes from being done. We are so excited. And I am one of those little persons, I put like all these tear-out graphs in the back of the books. You can tear ’em out and put ’em on your fridge ’cause I’m one of those. But I actually studied and years ago, back in 2014, I put together and compiled the frequencies of emotions and of food. And I had a lot of fun.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [00:59:35]:
This took a long, long, long time, years of compiling information just to make this one-page chart. And the highest emotional frequencies are serenity. I’m gonna go from highest to lowest. Serenity, unconditional love, exhilaration, enthusiasm. Those are ultra-high frequencies. Very high frequencies is peace, cheerfulness, strong interest, conservatism, don’t, not voting conservative, as in taking care of the environment, gratitude. And then high frequencies, taking action and contented. Do you know there’s no medium frequencies? This is really weird.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:00:07]:
It goes right from high frequency to low frequency and then very low and then extremely low. So low frequency, insecure, monotony, boredom, unappreciated, anger, hate, being antagonistic, disgust, feeling like a victim.

Nick Urban [01:00:21]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:00:21]:
Victim, having no sympathy, which is huge because we can watch people get blown up all the time and we don’t care. Like, if you don’t care about what’s happening in Gaza, you better look at the frequencies, honey, because when I talk about the food section, you’re going to want to change your food because you should be caring about all these people everywhere. Fear, grief, worry, betrayed, enabling others, moms, that’s the word I was looking for, enabling others, jealousy, undeserving. By the way, we’re in the very low Frequency. Completely lost. You have no idea what to do next. Useless, failure, sarcasm. And the ultra-low frequency is resentment.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:00:55]:
If you start resenting things. Hostility, hopeless, worthless, blame. You’re blaming your doctors, you’re blaming your husband, you’re blaming your wife, you’re blaming your kids, you’re blaming your neighbor, you’re blaming the medical community, you’re blaming COVID, you’re blaming, blame, blame, blame, blame, blame. Dying, regret. If you regret something, that’s too from death. That’s how bad regret is. And then despair, utter despair until you’re dead. You’re dead, period.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:01:21]:
So the foods, ultra-high frequency food, roses. Number one thing on the planet is a rose oil, right? That is the highest food in molecular frequency there is, is roses. And what’s really cool, when I did all this study, I studied so much all over the world. I did so much to put this together. But one of the things I studied was they measured the angstroms of human beings when they’re sick. And if they’re in the hospital and they, whatever their angstrom levels are, they put roses in the hospital room and 15 minutes later, an hour later, boom, their angstroms are already raising. Like you’re raising the vibrational frequency of sick people with roses. Hello, whoever came up with giving roses.

Nick Urban [01:01:59]:
Is that what angstrom is? Angstrom’s a measure of vibrational frequency?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:02:03]:
Yeah. And you can use angstroms for, ’cause we use, you know, we use yards and inches and everything. But you can use angstroms, obviously wattage and everything else. But yeah, angstroms, and you use a voltmeter to measure angstroms.

Nick Urban [01:02:16]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:02:17]:
Anyhow, after that, then it was a lot of different pure essential oils, organic fresh and organic frozen berries, very high, very high. Even if they’re frozen, the frequency doesn’t go away. Fresh organic juices like carrot juice, beet juice, herbs and greens, herbs and spices, very high, ultra-high frequency with fresh herbs and spices, and then sprouts. And then a very high frequency, raw fermented foods, many of the superfoods, you know, like cacao, et cetera, those, and goji berries, whatnot. Raw cold-pressed extra virgin oils, raw nuts and seeds. And then medium frequencies, dried herbs and spices, cooked vegetables, raw dairy. Get this, your dairy has no vibrational frequency that’s useless to the human being after 24 hours. So if you’re going to get a cow because you really like to get mucus in the body and you really like to durst when you’re hungry, Get some, but it should be within the first 24 hours, or eat cheese that’s really, really, really old, very aged, right? Still not a high frequency, but at least you’re getting your cheese fix even though you don’t need it.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:03:17]:
Anyhow, so raw dairy within the first 24 hours, eggs that are freshly laid have a medium frequency, raw honey and maple syrup, legumes, whole organic grains, fresh sugarcane, believe it or not.

Nick Urban [01:03:30]:
Hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:03:30]:
And then very low frequency, white rice, poultry, and raw dairy after 24 hours. 24 hours. Ultra-low frequency. This is probably many people’s diets. Genetically modified anything, because if you genetically modify anything, it is not in its whole form anymore.

Nick Urban [01:03:45]:
Right.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:03:45]:
And it doesn’t vibrate appropriately because it’s been slashed. It does not vibrate the same. Foods treated with pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, larvicides, and chemicals. Those are the side dishes. Herbicides, larvicides, insecticides, those are all designed to kill a living nervous system.

Nick Urban [01:04:01]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:04:02]:
So why do we put it in our body? Okay. Food for thought. Pasteurized fruit juices and snacks and fruit, because all that is crappy, only gives your dentist more money. Cooked meat, processed chocolate, alcohol, canola oil, cottonseed oil, margarine, and vegetable oils, processed packaged canned and fast foods, pasteurized milk, yogurt, ice cream, and cheese, dried, fried, and microwaved… I’m sorry, deep fried and microwaved foods, coffees and sodas, white flour for breads and pastries, cookies, cakes, and cereals, white, brown, and pasteurized sugar. I mean, processed sugar. And the very ultra lowest frequency is corn syrup and artificial sweeteners. So what was really cool though, let me just pull that up for those of you who can see, is then I color-coded this to make it easier.

Nick Urban [01:04:49]:
Hmm.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:04:49]:
And all of a sudden I realized, Nick, that the people eating these foods were having these emotions.

Nick Urban [01:04:55]:
Oh.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:04:55]:
And these people eating these foods were having the bitterness, the anger, the blame, right? It blew my mind. And I have used that chart, all my clients since I made it, because we literally can raise our frequencies. My daughter, Emily, um, she had, she had served a mission for her church and she had come home and like within the first week or two, we put that graph together. I had gathered everything and she was a very high energetic person, super fun, always happy. And at the end of compiling that, she’s like, Mom, I’m going to become even more happy and more positive. I’m going to eat sprouts for everything. And she did. She, I mean, I already grew a lot of sprouts and she was putting them on everything.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:05:37]:
It was really fun.

Nick Urban [01:05:39]:
How is this calibrated? Was this all measuring pre and post, like exposure to that food? Like, how do you know what food and what action emotion or what action and emotion correlate?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:05:51]:
We just measured the field. These, these, I didn’t have to do any of the testing. All of it was already done. So colleges, military bases all over the world already had done this work. You measure, you can find the frequency of any emotion. They’ve been doing that for decades, right? They used to have to like hook up all these electrodes to your brain and this big crazy thing was hanging over your head and they’d be like, feel anger, you know? And they’d like measure it out. What is the frequency she’s feeling?

Nick Urban [01:06:18]:
Yeah. Right.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:06:19]:
But hello, we don’t even need an electrode right now because frequencies were, are so easy to pick up and measure. So now they’ve, you know, they’ve, but they’ve collaborated all, they put all that together. And then food, using a voltammeter, they were able to measure the angstroms of different foods. So that list of foods just took you from a rose oil, which vibrated higher than anything, all the way down to corn syrup, which had, you know, ultra low vibrational frequency. So I have many graphs on vibrational frequencies just because, you know, where Candida vibrates and then cancer vibrates, and then, okay, what we’re getting, you know, processed food out of a can has no vibrational frequency worth anything, but boy, some of that, those beans can taste good, you know, whatever. So it is just understanding that living food has a much higher vibration than cooked food, except with one food. This is a big one. This is really funny.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:07:12]:
A potato. This one, I love studying this. A potato vibrates higher after being cooked. It’s the only thing we ever found in all of our studies, that when you cook a potato, it vibrates higher. A raw potato vibrates lower. I thought that was kind of funny.

Nick Urban [01:07:28]:
Yeah. Your map of the emotions and actions, that kind of reminds me of the David Hawkins map of consciousness as well.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:07:37]:
Yeah, yeah. Yep. And I mean, there’s so many ways to look at life and what are we, what can we actually influence? What is the role we play in this? If you don’t play a role in this, then don’t invest so much into it, you know?

Nick Urban [01:07:48]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:07:48]:
Like, like your whole sphere of influence is real, right? You can influence you. That’s the most important thing. You have complete control over that. And then maybe a little bit in your, you know, with your immediate husband, wife, family, spouse, whatever is right in your home and your family, and then a little bit in your community. But boo, you know, and we get, we get pretty worked up over things we can’t really control, but we can have influence over, which is why I am very supportive of people speaking out and sharing their opinion because we can influence others. And a lot of people just haven’t made changes because they don’t know. And if we all stay back and we get nervous about talking about X, Y, and Z, I don’t care what you’re all talking about, the shape of the Earth to what’s happening with modern medicine or COVID or whatever they’re going to come up with, but being, not being afraid to at least speak your mind. I firmly believe, Nick, there’s 2 mindsets.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:08:41]:
One is the closed mind, but one is the open mind. Now that sounds easy, but it’s not. The scientific mind is always open. If you’re an actual scientist, you know that what you’ve discovered is just a discovery and you’re not done yet.

Nick Urban [01:08:56]:
Yes.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:08:56]:
And so any, any scientist that comes out and goes, this is the absolute truth, I’m like, okay, you’re not a scientist. You aren’t, because you are not open to realizing that the Earth may not be what you were told, and civilization didn’t exactly start when you were told, right? You may not be open if you’re like, I’m an archaeologist, this is exactly how it’s gonna be for the rest of… this is truth. But then you might not be open to new discoveries. And this is the coolest thing, when 2 of my children, like my twins, actually became physicists. And their favorite thing, and really shortly after they went to college to become physicists, is they went to some building and it had atoms floating in space, right? And so like, there would be this concrete slab and then 4 glass walls and there’s an atom, one, you know? And then there’s another concrete slab with an atom or a group, right? And this is the coolest thing ever. This should be… this is just shut down the show. This is this mic drop moment. right here.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:09:57]:
They broke off into groups, and 2 or 3 groups were told, this is the atom. What do you think is going to happen if we introduce this molecule? And so they just… all these science minds going crazy, right? And they’re thinking about it. And then they go over to these atoms, and Group A goes over and goes, this is what we think is going to happen. And they introduce the molecule, and boom, that’s exactly what happens. Well, Group B comes over, Group A leaves. Group B comes over, they introduce the molecule, and boom, that’s exactly what happens. And then Group C, it’s exactly What happens? Mic drop. You control your life.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:10:32]:
You control your atoms. You control your body. And so you are atomic. The periodic table of electricity is in you. Well, not all of it. You’d explode. But a lot of it is in you. And you control that.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:10:46]:
Your mind is controlling your day. Period. So if we can have that much influence on one atom, think of what the heck’s happening in our bodies when we’re like, I am going to get rid of this, or I’m going to laugh my way out of this cancer diagnosis, or whatever it might be. Man, just people who are listening, do some studies. I have studied all of this for decades. There are people out there who have gained muscle mass by imagining they are lifting weights sitting on their couch.

Nick Urban [01:11:19]:
Yes.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:11:20]:
And they have grown these monster muscles thinking about it. And I’m over there lifting up my weights all the time, right?

Nick Urban [01:11:26]:
Yeah.

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:11:27]:
But like, you are so much more powerful than you have ever been told, which is why I do believe they don’t want you to know the power you have or hold inside of your trillions of cells and more trillions of bacteria matrix called the amazing human body.

Nick Urban [01:11:52]:
Well, Zuzu Unleashed, it’s been a pleasure hosting you. If people want to connect with you, check out your work, your school, which we barely even talked about today, where do you want to send them?

Karen “Zuzu” Armes [01:12:02]:
Um, right now I would go to zuzuunleashed.com. It has links to our school, Holistic Health Educators. We have a phenomenal program. The doctors and people we have on our staff and that work with us that you learn from are top-notch from all around the world. Absolutely incredible. So we are just building up a retreat center, and then we teach through Holistic Health Educators. And I have just loved doing all the podcasts, and I am starting a new Instagram, so I will actually be more visible in the space that a lot of people are now, um, kind of growing into. So besides our monster email lists, which you can grow up, which you can sign up for, we are definitely reaching out, um, and doing a lot more, a lot more in social media.

Nick Urban [01:12:43]:
So. Amazing. Well, I’ll put a link to all those in the show notes for this episode. We’ll have to do another recording, another interview as well, because I still have an outline a mile long of things that we didn’t get to cover today, but it’s already been over an hour. So I want to be respectful of your Thank you for joining me. Thank you all for sharing your time, your energy, and your attention with us today. And I hope if nothing else, you take away the idea of keeping an open mind. And if someone says to just trust the science or that the science is settled, that you’ll look the other way and you’ll do your own research because the science is never settled and the science is constantly evolving and no one’s going to look out for your health more than you will.
