Guide to Safely Using Modafinil as a Smart Drug for Max Productivity
Guide to Safely Using Modafinil as a Smart Drug for Max Productivity

Finding a nootropic, smart drug, or another compound that noticeably enhances cognitive performance isn’t easy.

Many require prescriptions, have weak effects, or have serious potential dangers.

If you’ve seen Bradley Cooper in the movie Limitless, you saw a miracle pill that unlocked superhuman capabilities.

It’s an alluring concept, and an older study found that one in three Americans have used drugs for cognitive enhancement. This global nootropics market is forecasted to grow to $6.61 billion by 2026. The demand is there, but what about the supply?

What you may not know is that Limitless was based on a smart drug called modafinil. Reported benefits are profound and apparent:

  • Mood
  • Alertness
  • Motivation
  • Reaction time
  • Memory
  • Sharpness

Unlike the movie’s fictional and experimental “NZT-48” drug, modafinil has few downsides.

This is the only pharmaceutical I take. Every occasion I do, I reliably feel the same benefits. Long-lasting productivity, sharpened focus, all-day energy, and easy information recall.

Modafinil has become popular among Wall Street Bankers, Silicon Valley Executives, elite athletes, military personnel, and those looking for an edge in high-performance professions.

In this guide, I will cover how modafinil works, the benefits and use cases as a smart drug, potential nootropic stacks, modafinil analogs, and much more.

What is Modafinil

Why Modafinil Smart Drug Popular

Modafinil (CRL 40,476, and under the brand names Provigil, Modalert, Alertec) is a medication developed in the 1970s as a wakefulness-promoting agent. During the ’90s, the FDA approved it as a treatment for narcolepsy and shift work sleep disorder. In the USA, modafinil falls into the category of Schedule IV controlled substances. Legal use requires a prescription.

In recent years, modafinil has become the study drug of choice (off-label use). Beating out classic stimulants like Ritalin and Adderall. Indeed, I noticed widespread modafinil use during my undergrad years.

Modafinil has captured the attention of neuroscience students and the nootropic community since it has an impressive safety profile and works differently from most stimulant drugs.

How modafinil works

Modafinil is usually consumed orally, and the effects peak two to four hours after ingestion. Its half-life is 15 hours, and undergoes hepatic (liver) metabolism via multiple pathways, including CYP3A4.

Most compounds that increase your alertness do so by activating the sympathetic nervous system. Unlike central nervous stimulants (like amphetamines), modafinil does not increase heart rate or blood pressure. It appears to selectively activate neurons, primarily in the hypothalamus and amygdala.

Researchers are still investigating modafinil’s exact mechanisms of action, but we know it some of the neuromodulations it causes.

As a 2020 study summarized,

“Although not fully clarified, major effects seem to be associated to inhibition of dopamine reuptake and modulation of several other neurochemical pathways, namely noradrenergic, serotoninergic, orexinergic, histaminergic, glutamatergic and GABAergic.”

Modafinil’s currently understood neurochemical actions include:

  • Histamine. Histamine plays a role in allergies, but it also helps regulate the circadian rhythm. Modafinil increases histamine levels (via the hypothalamus), playing a major role in energy and wakefulness.
  • Dopamine. This dominant neurotransmitter involved in stimuli and reward also plays a role in mood, drive, and concentration. Most stimulants directly deplete dopamine. Modafinil, on the other hand, blocks the dopamine transporter (DAT), causing it to accumulate. Researchers hypothesize that this more gentle effect on the dopamine system explains modafinil’s non-addictive properties.
  • Orexin. Orexin is a neurotransmitter directly involved in regulating appetite, wakefulness, and nervous system arousal. Modafinil stimulates orexin neurons which leads to increased production of histamine and increased alertness.
  • Norepinephrine. Norepinephrine is another excitatory neurotransmitter involved in regulating wakefulness, energy, and focus. Modafinil increases levels of norepinephrine, although the exact mechanism is not yet fully understood.
  • Glutamate. Glutamate is the dominant stimulatory neurotransmitter in the brain, and it’s vital to optimal cognition. Modafinil seems to have a beneficial effect on glutamate.
  • GABA. GABA is the dominant sedating neurotransmitter. Promoting relaxation, tranquility, recovery, and sleep. Modafinil inhibits GABA.
  • Serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter involved in mood regulation, digestion, and much more. Modafinil seems to amplify the effects of serotonin, but we need more research to fully understand these effects.

Although we do not yet fully understand all the pathways and mechanisms behind modafinil’s effects, these seem to explain most. Particularly, the dopamine reuptake inhibition appears dominant.

Finally, 80 percent of the dose gets excreted as metabolites in the urine.

Dosages

Using modafinil as a smart drug is certainly off-label use.

Common modafinil dosages for use as a smart drug:

  • Light: 10-50mg
  • Moderate: 50-200mg
  • Heavy: 200mg+

As an off-label use, there is no clear consensus on ideal dosages. The rule of thumb is to take the minimum possible while retaining the desired effects.

Due to modafinil’s long half-life, you’ll want to take it early. To avoid sleep disruption, first thing in the morning, if possible.

I personally use 25-50mg of modafinil, at about 6:00 AM, taken on an empty stomach. It works great as a pre-workout.

Like most nootropics and smart drugs, modafinil retains maximal potency when cycled. I avoid taking it more than twice per week. Despite its safety, I caution my clients to take at least two days off per week.

Note that it is dehydrating and DRAMATICALLY amplifies the effects of caffeine. One cup of coffee feels like five. I recommend avoiding or minimizing caffeine when getting acquainted with modafinil.

Brain Benefits & Effects of Modafinil

Modafinil Smart Drug Benefits Uses

Over 2,000 studies have investigated the effects, use cases, and potential benefits of modafinil.

Despite that, I’ve noticed a split between semi-pessimistic clinical findings and glowing real-world anecdotes. For just about every benefit, oddly, some users report feeling the opposite.

I suspect that many of the benefits commonly reported stem from modafinil’s miraculous ability to normalize bodily functions during periods of insufficient sleep.

Many of the studies have occurred in low-performing individuals or the researchers examined the wrong markers of performance.

Some research, however, echos its potential benefits (emphasis mine),

“In addition, modafinil (at well-tolerated doses) improves function in several cognitive domains, including working memory and episodic memory, and other processes dependent on prefrontal cortex and cognitive control. These effects are observed in rodents, healthy adults, and across several psychiatric disorders. Furthermore, modafinil appears to be well-tolerated, with a low rate of adverse events and a low liability to abuse.”

Below, I’ve compiled modafinil’s benefits and most common use cases.

Energy & alertness

As a eugeroic agent, modafinil is well-known for its anti-fatigue and energy-boosting effects. In fact, it was designed to do exactly that. Promote wakefulness, increase energy, and enhance alertness. Particularly for those suffering from sleep deprivation.

Military personnel (especially pilots) use modafinil to stay alert during long missions.

Unlike stimulants, however, modafinil used appropriately does not impair normal sleep and circadian rhythms.

Anyone that has used modafinil will attest to its ability to keep you awake.

Memory

Modafinil does more than promote wakefulness.

Preliminary evidence suggests that it may also improve memory. Both short and long-term memory. According to the study referenced previously (emphasis mine),

Of course, memory improvement works even better when sleep-deprived.

My own experience with modafinil has yielded similar results. When programming, I can more easily recall commands that I rarely use. When researching novel nootropic compounds, my memory feels slightly more “photographic”. I remember which studies to reference for particular features.

Some everyday users, however, complain that modafinil hinders their memory. Further supporting the notion of cycling modafinil.

Mood

Stimulants generally over-activate the sympathetic branch of the nervous system and cause anxiety.

Anxiety quickly overpowers any feelings of happiness or relaxation.

A clinical trial found that modafinil improves mood in healthy individuals. Many people simply cannot use stimulants due to the debilitating anxiety-inducing effects. While modafinil still arouses the sympathetic nervous system, it causes less anxiety. Presumably due to the increased dopamine and serotonin levels, some users even report decreased anxiety.

I find that low-dose modafinil usage dramatically improves my life outlook. I have more energy after a long day of work, which fuels my optimism and eagerness to engage in social situations.

Mood is another area where regular users report mixed effects.

Social

Modafinil enables extroversion.

I alluded to this previously in modafinil’s effect on mood.

I am naturally an ambivert, thriving in social situations — when I have the energy. I find that the remaining post-modafinil energy leads to increased social awareness and empathy. I listen attentively and without distracting thoughts.

I read and interpret non-verbal cues more effectively. I am able to access relevant memories and retrieve ideas/stories. Modafinil fuels my charismatic conversationalist side.

This is yet another one of the mixed effects of modafinil. While many report pro-social effects, some folks feel more robotic and less social.

Learning

Modafinil is quickly becoming a go-to study drug.

The combined benefits make it a popular study session enhancer:

  • Deep focus allows you to ingest more material, in less time, and without distraction
  • Ameliorates sleep deprivation symptoms
  • Working memory and episodic memory enhancements, even in healthy well-rested users
  • Wakefulness

It seems particularly adept for situations requiring heavy memory retrieval.

Most human memory encoding occurs during sleep. The most common study drugs are amphetamines. These drugs often impair sleep. For amphetamine users with disrupted sleep, modafinil can bring them up to normal functioning.

Overall, the primary learning benefit is increased alertness which allows for long, uninterrupted study sessions.

Neuroprotection

Surprisingly, modafinil may be a neuroprotective agent.

Only a few clinical trials have investigated this role. Researchers don’t know exactly how it works, but confirm it does have antioxidant properties,

“While no antioxidant or mitochondrial effects of modafi nil have been reported in the context of its ability to promote wakefulness or enhance neurotransmitter release, it has been shown that modafinil does have an antioxidant effect that appears to mediate its neuroprotective actions in MPTP-induced neurodegeneration (Xiao et al 2004). The site of action mediating this effect has not yet been elucidated, and there are a number of plausible intracellular targets…”

Modafinil can reduce the presence of free radicals in the brain, thus earning it a spot as a neuroprotectant.

Another study found that a “modafinil-coated nanoparticle has neuroprotective effects by increasing neurotrophic factors and reducing apoptosis”.

Although if you’re looking for neuroprotection specifically, other compounds do a far better job.

Recovery

One of the more common off-label modafinil uses is to recover from a sub-optimal night of sleep.

After a long night of drinking, modafinil is one of many powerful hangover cures.

Or, when I am struggling to stay awake after traveling around the world, it works great to combat jet lag and quickly adjust to new time zones.

On rare occasions, I will toss and turn and sleep poorly. Usually, because I am stuck anticipating something major occurring the next day.

Modafinil can help return to baseline in all kinds of scenarios.

Weight loss

Modafinil is not in my toolkit of products I recommend for weight loss.

Nonetheless, modafinil does have indirect weight loss-enhancing benefits.

It suppresses appetite and the palatability of food. When using modafinil, I can easily skip meals. Especially when I combine it with a shot of exogenous ketone esters. Together, the combo feels like rocket fuel for the brain. I set an alarm for lunch because otherwise, I’ll easily (and happily) skip it and just work until around 4 PM.

I’ve heard of doctors using modafinil to help their patients lose weight. These days, however, the GLP-1 agonists, peptides, and a variety of other options are more suitable to increase fat burn and improve body composition.

Decision making

Decision-making is a crucial skill and overlooked facet of cognition.

Decision fatigue describes the phenomena of our decision-making skills dwindling the more decisions we make. That is, until we sleep and restore this mental willpower.

We’ve all seen, heard, or experienced the consequences of decision fatigue:

  • Judges preside more harshly during end-of-day cases
  • Workers are more likely to snack on junk food at the end of a long shift
  • Shoppers are more likely to buy unneeded things at the end of a shopping spree
  • Drivers are more likely to get into accidents towards the end of their route

Is it possible that modafinil can help?

A review of 24 studies suggests that it works two ways:

Together, this suggests that modafinil can help prevent succumbing to rash decisions while simultaneously improving the ability to integrate information to rapidly make smart decisions.

One other study found,

“Improvements under modafinil were seen on spatial working memory, planning and decision making at the most difficult levels, as well as visual pattern recognition memory following delay”

It’s no magic bullet though. I like to decide while using modafinil, and then actualize them the next day when modafinil has left my system.

Athletic performance

Modafinil has tremendous athletic performance-enhancing benefits.

As a eugeroic agent, it helps keep energy stable and wards off fatigue. Making it an excellent option to improve sports (especially endurance) and increase fatigue resistance.

Modafinil is an excellent (but perhaps overly powerful) pre-workout ingredient to fuel the most grueling and soul crushing workouts.

Plus, with its appetite-suppressing effects, it can help athletes rapidly shed fat, put on muscle, and transform their bodies.

Note that modafinil is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for use in high-level sports.

It’s not just traditional athletes that use modafinil as a performance-enhancing drug.

Competitive players of chess, poker, pool, table tennis, and even e-gamers also capitalize on modafinil’s hand-eye coordination benefits.

Modafinil’s fitness and sports enhancing effects are so powerful that it is banned by many of the world’s anti-doping agencies.

Sexual health

A less-discussed effect of modafinil is its role in sexuality.

Dopamine and libido go hand-in-hand. As we increase overall dopamine levels, we’d expect to see an increase in libido.

Indeed, users often report a notable uptick in libido and, sometimes, sexual performance.

One 2022 study of 46 men with premature ejaculation found that “modafinil improved dimensions of early ejaculation, always compared to placebo”.

Some people report unwanted sexual side effects, such as in this case study,

“However, side effects such as hypersexuality and unwanted orgasm have been reported with modafinil treatment”

Unfortunately, it may also reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraception.

Although certainly not a primary effect, modafinil does have mixed effects on sexual health and performance.

Modafinil’s Side Effects

Modafinil has few contraindications with other drugs, medications, and substances. Nor are there any common allergies. It may, however, interact with blood pressure medications, beta-blockers, blood thinners, warfarin, anti-seizure medicine, and antidepressants.

The rare but known side effects of modafinil include:

  • Fever
  • Bruising or bleeding
  • Hallucinations
  • Chest pain
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Confusion
  • Depression
  • Suicidal ideation

About five people per million have Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and may develop an extremely dangerous rash. Therefore, it’s important to undergo genetic susceptibility screening and check with your doctor first.

Safety

Modafinil is well studied and considered among the safer smart drugs. Medically, it’s a low-risk drug.

It’s non-addictive, unlike many other similar productivity drugs. Plus, due to the low/non-existent tolerance profile, users that stop using modafinil do not experience withdrawal symptoms. In fact, it can help alleviate withdrawal symptoms of other drugs like cocaine or opiates.

Even long-term use appears efficacious, with a study concluding,

“…Modafinil is well tolerated, with no evidence of tolerance developing during 40 weeks of treatment.”

All of this assumes normal use. Throughout my years of occasional use, I’ve never noticed even a slight addictive property or any withdrawal symptom.

Modafinil Analogs & Alternatives

Modafinil is the gold standard of smart drugs. For various reasons, people often look for the best modafinil alternatives. Some are true nootropics ingredients. Others are pre-formulated products.

But here we will look into modafinil’s molecular cousins — called analogs.

Certain modafinil analogs elicit similar effects but with different properties:

  • Duration
  • Power
  • Cognitive benefits
  • Side effects
  • “Smoothness”
  • Toxicity

Although I still prefer normal modafinil due to the vast body of research and proven efficacy.

Adrafinil

Adrafinil (CRL 40,028) is very similar to modafinil and actually the pro-drug of it. When the body metabolizes adrafinil, it creates modafinil. The effects are not as strong and only last a few hours.

The primary issue with adrafinil is that it can potentially elevate liver enzymes (making it slightly hepatotoxic) with repeat use. People use it, however, because it’s available over the counter without a prescription. I’ve used it a few times and cannot recommend it.

Armodafinil

Armodafinil can be considered a part of the modafinil molecule. It’s also a prescription drug.

Understanding the difference between modafinil and armodafinil requires some knowledge of organic chemistry. For the chemistry phobic, here’s an easy way to think of it.

The modafinil molecule is comprised of two types: R-Modafinil and S-Modafinil. These types, called enantiomers, are almost like “mirror images” of each other. Just like with Hard Ketones, compounds with a mix of the two are called racemic.

Where modafinil is half R-Modafinil and half S-Modafinil, armodafinil is pure S-Modafinil. Modafinil has a shorter half-life of 6.5-9.5 hours while armodafinil has an extremely long half-life of 10-15 hours. Armodafinil is also far stronger. Inhibiting dopamine reuptake by 3-fold more.

People often equate a 150mg dose of armodafinil to 200mg of modafinil. Be careful, however, as armodafinil has a much greater propensity to disrupt sleep. Side effects like headaches are also more common with this version.

FLmodafinil

FLmodafinil (CRL 40,940) is a novel form of modafinil with less research. Nonetheless, it’s the most promising modafinil analog I’ve come across.

FLmodafinil is a stronger variant of both adrafinil and armodafinil. This one contains two additional Fluorine atoms which increase its half-life and bioavailability. These are two characteristics considered when evaluating the potency and efficacy of drugs.

The pharmacokinetics suggests of FLmoda has a half-life 40% longer and up to 4-fold greater potency than modafinil.

I notice that Flmodafinil kicks in faster. The energy, focus, and motivation boosting effects feel more pronounced than the other forms.

Since 2015 it has been in Phase I of clinical trials, so it’s very much in the grey market. I cannot recommend it for human consumption.

Powerful Neurohacks to Stack With Modafinil for Greater Effects

Best Neurohacking Techologies Upgrade Brain Mind

Standard modafinil alone is plenty for most people and use cases.

Some folks, however, are looking for more power or to “take the edge off” of it. To balance the effects. Without relying on a less-researched modafinil analog.

I classify modafinil-enhancing neurohacks into two categories.

Nootropics

True nootropics are special ingredients that biomodulate the brain to work better, and with incredible safety profiles.

Folks often combine (”stack”) modafinil with different things for synergistic effects.

Popular nootropics to stack with modafinil include:
  • Overall Boost: Modafinil + ALCAR + Phenylpiracetam
  • Superhuman Energy: Modafinil + Uridine + Teacrine
  • Rapid Learning: Modafinil + CollaGenius
  • Flow State: Modafinil + Ashwagandha + Aniracetam
  • Deep Focus: Modafinil + Noopept
  • Alertness: Modafinil + Genius Coffee + Theanine
  • Logical Thinking: Modafinil + Uridine + Oxiracetam + DHA
  • Social Confidence: Modafinil + Picamilon/Phenibut

I’ve found that most GABAergics (like taurine, glycine, and theanine) as well as anti-stress herbals (like ashwagandha) nicely balance the stimulation of modafinil.

In addition to these nootropic ingredients, other things can augment the effects of modafinil.

Technologies

Certain technologies and modalities can make modafinil feel stronger, more balanced, and work better. All with the same or even lower dose.

Each of these is non-invasive, drug-free, and works to enhance productivity even without modafinil in your system.

Brain.fm

You’ve probably heard that classical music improves your brain power. The right audio can rapidly, sustainably, and dramatically alter neural activity. Improving the way you feel and perform.

Here’s the issue with most music. Music only goes viral if it hooks your attention. It’s engineered to distract. Using special technology, composers can actually create functional music that does the opposite. It puts you in the zone. Helping you focus, enter the “flow state”, and easily excel at your chosen task.

I’ve tried all kinds of sounds powered by neuroscience. From binaural beats, to isochronic tones, to productivity playlists, to proprietary tones. I inevitably come back to one tool. You’ll learn why it’s the absolute best in this Brain.fm review. Actually, I used Brain.fm while writing this post!

Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is a potent form of biofeedback therapy where the individual uses a tech system to help “coach” their brain to enter and maintain optimal states for extended periods. Potentiating the effects of any nootropic, smart drug, or cognitive enhancing modality.

Not long ago, experiencing the full benefits of neurofeedback required visits to a clinic and could cost over $100,000. Thus, it was only available to elite athletes, renowned businesspeople, and well-resourced high-achievers. Now, buying a high-quality at-home neurofeedback system costs $200-$1,200. For unlimited use, whenever. This is an area of cognitive performance enhancement that I am only now experiencing after I recently purchased my own device. The most beginner-friendly and affordable system, however, is the Muse.

Infopathy

Infopathy is the company behind popular neurowearables that use electromagnetism to influence brainwaves and other biological activity. On the cellular level, everything we consume has a unique “digital fingerprint”. Infopathy has a massive digital database of these frequencies. Applying the frequency (without the actual physical molecule), causes similar biochemical effects throughout the body (albeit much weaker).

I’ve tested all kinds of Infopathy nootropics and other performance-enhancing ingredients. I was skeptical at first. After nearly two years of daily use, and several blinded placebo-controlled self-experiments, I do notice a slight effect. Compared to an average dose of the physical substance, I’d rate the potency of effects 1-3/10. Depending on the particular chosen molecule. Learn more in my Infopathy “Infoceuticals” Review.

Hapbee

Hapbee is the other prominent neurohacking wearable. This one claims to modulate brain activity via radio waves. Unlike Infopathy, Hapbee uses ultra-low radio frequency (ulRFE) technology. Their catalog consists of desired states (social, deep work, relaxing, unwinding, sleeping). It’s a passive technology, meaning you select a mode and go about your day.

There’s ample research on how electromagnetic fields influence health — mostly detrimentally. Hapbee’s proprietary ulRFE technology, however, has little scientific backing. They share some research and pilot studies on their website. But does it work?

The brain’s natural electromagnetism is ultra-low power. It follows that a low-power neurowearable could safely modulate activity.

I use the Wake Up mode in the morning which contains the molecular signatures of both caffeine and theobromine (a stimulating ingredient in dark chocolate). At night, I’ll use Wind Down mode for a non-pharmacological hit of melatonin and adenosine.

I’ve tested Hapbee for several months now. So far, it hasn’t been as powerful as Infopathy. Wake Up feels like a 1-2/10 potency, but Unwinding mode really does seem to knock me out faster. I’ll rate the potency of it 3/10. Learn more in my honest Hapbee review.

tACS

Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation refers to the process of applying a MICRO (this is key) current of electricity to different parts of the body. This minuscule electrical current helps modulate neural activity in targeted regions of the brain.

The elite top-secret government agency, DARPA, used this technology to cut the learning curve of snipers by 40%.

It does take a bit of learning about the ideal electrode placement, but the sessions are quick and painless. Since the goal is to modulate brain activity, getting a high-quality failsafe system is VITAL. The DIY nature of learning where to place electrodes makes this a neurohack I’d only recommend to the advanced.

Buying Modafinil Online

Modafinil is one of the easiest prescription drugs to procure.

That said, it is a prescription drug. Online vendors do not ask for proof of prescription, but you should check with your doctor first and go through the proper channels.

There are many online modafinil sellers that make it available to just about anyone, anywhere in the world. There are only two I recommend for high-quality, pharmaceutical-grade modafinil.

HighStreetPharma

The best online modafinil seller I’ve come across is HighStreetPharma. They sell a wide variety of pharmaceuticals over the counter. Since its inception over six years ago, HSP has become the top source of both modafinil and armodafinil.

They have a huge catalog of different compounds, which includes popular brands of modafinil and armodafinil (Modafil, Modalert, Wakalert, Artvigil, and Modvigil). Plus, HighStreetPharma has the cheapest prices I’ve seen.

These two factors have HSP claiming the throne of “The Amazon of Modafinil” from another popular vendor called ModafinilXL.

They accept most payment methods, ship discretely around the world, and offer several ways to save over 30 percent on your already discounted order. These same tablets cost double on other websites. Use code URBAN to save extra.

ModafinilXL

ModafinilXL is the longest-standing, biggest name in buying modafinil online. Users love them because orders ship with free samples. Helping you determine if you respond better to modafinil or armodafinil.

The other notable feature of ModaXL is its insane speed. Where orders placed through most vendors (aside from HSP) arrive in 14-30 days, this company dispatches orders in as little as two hours after payment. Domestic orders within the USA arrive in as little as 3-4 business days.

If you’re looking for rapid shipping speed and free samples, ModafinilXL is hard to beat. Use code URBAN to save 10% or 50URBAN to receieve 50 free modafinil pills on orders of $170 or more.

Using Modafinil for Superhuman Performance?

Using modafinil alone probably won’t have you breaking any world records.

It doesn’t match the miraculous effects of the fictional “NZT-48” smart drug (but it’s free of those terrible side effects too).

I’ve tried nearly 200 nootropics, smart drugs, and cognitive-enhancing ingredients. Modafinil causes the most consistent, notable boost to my:

  • Energy
  • Focus
  • Motivation
  • Athletic performance

Corollary effects include improved decision-making, sociability, memory, mood, and quality of life.

I love stacking modafinil with other nootropics and neurohacking practices for a potent productivity synergy. Which, at the same time, minimizes any potential side effects.

But here’s the thing…

Everyone is neurochemically and biochemically unique. My favorite nootropics may not work well for you.

So with your medical professional’s approval, I suggest you test it for yourself. Experiment. Start with a tiny dose, and remember that it drastically potentiates other ingredients. One cup of coffee, for example, may feel like 5-10. If legal in your country, you can get it delivered straight to your doorstep…

If you don’t like it, try one of these top modafinil alternatives that the nootropics community raves about.

Have you tried biohacking with modafinil? How was your experience? Let’s make this a conversation in the comments below!
